Chapter 88 The End. Aftermath.
Chapter 88 The End. Aftermath.
The battle had been raging above the city for what seemed like an eternity. Ethan and Andriel were locked in a deadly aerial struggle, their powers sending shockwaves that vibrated through the very air itself. The city below seemed like a distant memory, with only the sky and the occasional flicker of the earth below remaining in their focus. The clouds swirled around them, growing darker with each powerful strike, their movements blurring with the sheer speed at which they collided.
Ethan's golden=blue aura still flickered around him, though it had begun to dim from the exhaustion of the prolonged battle. His Aura Shield was barely holding, its once bright and translucent form now flickering and cracking under the pressure. His body was battered and bruised, each breath coming in quick, labored gasps. But his spirit remained unbroken. It seemed that the moon was a bane to his vampiric abilities too as his regeneration wasn't working as it was supposed to.
Andriel, floating effortlessly above him, looked untouched—her silver hair flowing like moonlight in the wind. Her Lunar Crescent Scythe gleamed brightly, and her body was glowing with an ethereal silver light. Her expression was calm, detached, as though she were not even truly fighting but merely observing. She was powerful, her connection to the moon making her an ethereal, almost untouchable opponent.
But Ethan was determined. With every ounce of strength left in him, he was ready to give it all to finish the battle.
---
Ethan's Psychic powers flared again, and the ground below seemed to tremble with the force of his abilities. The city below was nothing but a blur, and yet he could still feel the Earth beneath him, responding to his will. With a violent surge of power, he caused massive columns of stone to rise from the city below, shooting upward in a twisting, spiraling motion, forming a jagged pillar of rock that shot through the clouds toward Andriel.
His Telekinesis amplified the effect, bending the rocks in midair, launching them with unimaginable speed. They were like weapons now, sharp and jagged, designed to pierce Andriel's defenses.
Andriel saw the attack coming. Her silver eyes flashed as she raised both arms high, and a beam of pure Lunar Light shot from her hands, colliding with the rocks midair, shattering them into millions of shards. But Ethan didn't stop there.
He twisted his hands, and the rocks that had shattered became an extension of his will, swirling around him in a massive, rotating vortex of debris. With a flick of his wrist, he sent the shards speeding toward Andriel like a swarm of deadly projectiles.
She was ready. In a blink, Andriel summoned a massive, crescent-shaped barrier of moonlight that expanded outward in front of her, her entire form becoming bathed in the intense glow. The shards of stone slammed against her shield, each impact sending out ripples of energy that rippled through the air, but the shield held strong. The moment the last rock struck, Andriel's form shot forward, faster than Ethan could track.
Ethan's heart raced, and he realized—he was running out of time. He couldn't maintain this pace for long. This was a battle where he fought to save his supposed enemy, but his enemy was fighting to kill. He could feel her killing intent like crawling insects on his scaly skin.
---
Andriel was closing in, and with an elegant motion, she raised her Lunar Crescent Scythe, her aura rippling with energy. The scythe grew to an enormous size, its edge gleaming with silver light.
"Lunar Judgement," she intoned coldly, and the skies above seemed to crack open with her power.
Ethan's breath caught in his chest as he realized what she was preparing. The moon above them seemed to grow even larger, as if the very heavens were bending to her will. A column of brilliant white lunar energy began to form directly above her, its light cutting through the clouds and illuminating the entire battlefield. It was a beam of energy so concentrated; it seemed to bend time and space around it. The Lunar Judgement had the power to obliterate everything in its path.
He couldn't let that happen.
Ethan's eyes narrowed. He was spent, every part of him aching, but there was no turning back now.
His body was enveloped in his yellow lightning, crackling with an electric, violent energy. The lightning raced through him, bringing a surge of speed and strength just when he needed it most. He leaped forward, his machete raised high, his purple aura claw extending from his left hand like a monstrous, spectral appendage, ready to catch anything that dared come close.
Andriel's Lunar Judgement was ready to strike, but in the instant before she released it, Ethan reached out with his Telekinesis, pulling Andriel's scythe from her grasp and sending it spinning away into the sky. The momentary distraction was enough for Ethan to close the gap between them.
With a defiant roar, Ethan teleported forward, appearing right in front of Andriel, his aura blazing. His aura claw lashed out, but this time, it wasn't just an extension of his will—it was a culmination of everything he had learned, a manifestation of his full psychic power. The purple claw collided with Andriel's body with a sickening crack, and her form was sent reeling backward.
For the first time, Andriel's confidence faltered. She struggled to regain control as her body spun through the air, but Ethan wasn't finished.@@@@
As Andriel attempted to steady herself, Ethan's Sky Uppercut slammed into her side, the force of the blow sending a shockwave through the air. She gasped as the wind was knocked out of her. The silver light that had once surrounded her began to flicker, her connection to the moon weakening.
With a beautiful smile on her face, she vanished from the skies with Ethan and Andriel encased in a dark cloud.
...
Back on the grounds, Trevor and the rest squinted their eyes for any sign of Ethan, but they couldn't find him anywhere. After that final clash, which only Trevor could follow somehow, Ethan and Andriel vanished from the sky or so they thought. In actuality, the battle had only lasted 7 minutes but to them, it was like centuries.
"Where is Ethan? I'm scared." Clara said, almost crying.
"With the kind of Sync he used, there will surely be consequences." Trevor replied.
"What do you mean?" Clara.
"He used Sync with two beasts." Trevor.
"Why the fuck didn't you stop him?!" Lamair felt like strangling Trevor right now.
"I couldn't stop that shithead! Besides, I realized after he fully transformed." Trevor.
"Wait he has two beasts?" Emily asked.
"You didn't know?" Trevor.
"This fucker..."
Ring!
"Hello Miss Beli?" Clara answered the sudden call on her phone.
"It's Carmen, Clara. I want you and the others to get Harley and come to Ethan's house, now!"
"What?"
"There's no time for questions. Hurry up!"
"O-okay!"
"What's wrong?" Emily asked her best friend, noticing the worried look on her face.
"Miss Bel-Carmen said we should come to Ethan's house now. It's urgent and we should also get Harley." Clara responded in a shivering tone.
"Let's go!" Trevor wasted no time jumping in his Terra Edge. The others hurriedly followed in while Clara called Harley to meet them at the junction of their street.
Whatever the matter was, they would know when they get there. She just hoped, Ethan was safe. The reason she hadn't broken down yet was because Miss Carmen called her right after the battle, so she had a lingering suspicion that she must have saved Ethan. Besides, who else could have deployed that huge barrier?
