Chapter 1030 - 756 Lanci was Mistaken for a Comedian_3
Abigail scoffed and crossed her legs,
"Who are you really?"
She squinted at Lanci, asking.
"I’m Landry."
Lanci stated firmly.
Just like when Red Falcon Nikola from the Empire’s Special Operations Department asked him, he couldn’t possibly give a second answer.
"It’s boring if you keep lying."
Abigail looked ridiculous and tilted her head up.
"Why do you say that?"
Lanci asked, puzzled.
His gaze swept across the room.
The ticking of the wall clock resounded, each tick mocking him mercilessly.
Although he didn’t admit it, he had a hunch that Abigail might not be fishing for information; her decisive move against the stronger Talia suggested that she must have evidence.
"Landry is my junior brother, do you think I can’t recognize him?"
Abigail’s eyes grew colder, and she lost patience with the impostor’s lies,
"I’ve always felt that given Landry’s skill level, it’s unlikely he could achieve this extent, or to give him ten years, no, even a hundred years, he couldn’t have such a thorough understanding of fire and seals. Now I’m certain, after meeting his demise, someone stole his identity."
Her voice was filled with increasing hatred, her fingertips digging into her palms.
"Wait, Landry’s death has nothing to do with me."
Abigail took out a Magic Card surrounded by a pink glow, touched it lightly, and held it to her ear.
Lanci watched in surprise as Abigail handled the Communication Card in her hand.
It was identical to the one Landry held.
"Which number are you?"
Lanci asked as he sat on the sofa, looking at Abigail.
Abigail glanced at him but did not respond, instead she concentrated on the Communication Magic at her ear, waiting for the connection.
Seconds later, a noisy sound transmitted through the semi-transparent pink Communication Magic.
"Teacher, come to the opera house. I’ve caught a big fish. Your hunch was right, there’s something wrong with Landry."
Abigail spoke rapidly to the other end.
"But I’m investigating a very important matter, and it’s very costly in Mana to transmit."
A man’s voice came faintly through the Communication Magic Card.
"Just get here when I say so! Enough with the nonsense!!"
Abigail shouted into the Communication Magic.
"..."
The person on the other end dared not speak,
"Okay."
He said so.
Abigail then hung up the Communication.
