Chapter 392 - 372 Lanci’s Speech on a Talk Show_1

On the twenty-third floor of the Herram Broadcasting Company building, inside the recording studio of "The Herram Evening Show".

With the slow pan of the camera, the audience section’s lights gradually brighten, heralding the start of a new episode of "The Herram Evening Show".

The atmosphere thickens, with the audience’s applause flowing uninterrupted, their faces excited, expectant, even slightly nervous, as their enthusiasm fills the grand studio.

The studio decor exudes a cozy, stylish living room ambiance. A large floor-to-ceiling window provides a clear panoramic view of Herram’s nighttime cityscape, creating a familiar yet professional environment for the show.

On the stage, the sofa is arranged neatly in anticipation of the host and guest arrivals.

The dynamic display of "The Herram Evening Show" is vividly visible on the backdrop, with the giant screen occasionally showing the discussion’s theme and the guest’s photographs.

Subsequently, the energetic opening music sounds, and the host steps onto the stage.

Leola Franklin, the current national-level show host for the Protoss, beloved for her friendly and genuine style. Her ability to facilitate profound heart-to-heart conversations and inspiring discussions with guests and audiences alike has won many hearts.

Leola’s arrival ignites warm applause and cheers from the audience. Dressed elegantly simple and vivacious, she graciously acknowledges the audience with a wave and opens the show with her characteristically warm, resonant voice: "Tonight, you will witness some very special stories..."

Accompanied by the band’s joyous, theatrical jazz music, each spotlight seems to be laying down a red carpet towards the stage.

"We have a guest whom you all have been eagerly waiting for."

She announces shortly after the introductory remarks.

The camera quickly zooms past the sea of audience members and captures Rocky McCarthy.

He is wearing a well-pressed, sleek purple suit that accentuates his elite demeanor. His soft brown hair shines under the spotlight, and with confident, composed strides, he walks onto the stage under everyone’s expectant gaze.

Lanci expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the Protoss Empire, particularly regarding its cooperation and trade policies and diplomatic relations. He believed that the Protoss was at a disadvantage in its interactions with other nations.

"A lot could occur in this country in the coming years that no one can predict. But regardless, we, as a debtor nation, cannot continue to lose billions each year. We’ve given our allies every right, including entrance into our market and the dumping of their goods, but this is not ’free trade.’ If you attempt to sell something there, forget it, give it up; it’s nearly impossible. They may not have legislated restrictions on our Protoss goods, but they make it virtually impossible in practice. We don’t perform as well as they do, hence their corporations are outcompeting ours. I want to say that you may genuinely respect those who have managed to completely defeat you, but if things continue this way, they will utterly annihilate our country."

Lanci’s voice, a mix of conviction and a subtle hint of challenge, in conjunction with Leola’s insightful and robust questioning, presented the audience with a feast of thoughts and viewpoints.

The stage at the moment seemed a microcosm of the world stage, where the two key figures clashed and the attentive audience bore witness to this oratory duel.

The lights slowly converged on the two individuals, as every other detail on the stage faded into the background. The focus remained on Leola and Lanci, sitting there with every word hanging in the audience’s gaze, captivated by the gravity of the dialogue, seeking sparks of wisdom.

"So, Mr. Rocky McCarthy, what do you think should be done to change this situation that you’re concerned about?"

Leola gently leaned forward, her question was straightforward yet demonstrated her skillful interviewing technique.

"First and foremost, we need peace, then, we need the allies of the Protoss Empire - let’s leave the enemies out of the picture for now since negotiating with them proves challenging - to pay their fair share. Hey, think about it. We’re allowing them the opportunity to enter our market to sell their natural resources and quality products and earn more money, so why can’t they give us 20% of that?"

Lanci was doing more than merely answering a question; he was recounting a larger story about the future, careers, ideals, and the dream of Protoss. He felt that the Protoss Empire was not earning enough money.

As the program deepened, the atmosphere started to grow increasingly tense.

Truth be told, the themes and ideas presented by Rocky McCarthy intrigued and enticed the audience far more than discussions on warfare.

However, these subjects stretched beyond him transitioning from headmaster to governor. They even exceeded the scope of his current duties within the Protoss Empire, leading to speculation that this man perhaps aspired to take another step up.

If he indeed harbored such intentions.

With his unique intelligence, leader charisma, outstanding eloquence, and emotional communication skill, perhaps one day, he really could reach the pinnacle of the Protoss Empire!
