Chapter 128 What Email
Chapter 128 What Email
elizalina's yelp caught the attention of alicarde's friends. she blushed a bit due to her embarrassing outburst.
alicarde glared at her slightly. meeting his eyes, she smiled, and her smile only made alicarde gulp—not because she looked breathtaking, but because he knew she was up to something. and he was right.
with a sly look, elizalina leaned closer.nôv(el)b\\jnn
"darling, this is a public place. you must refrain from placing your hand in such an intimate area. what if someone sees us? i am quite the shy girl."
"huh, what?"
alicarde was stunned by how blatantly shameless she was acting.
the boys exchanged looks, regarding him with suspicion and jealousy. they were clearly thinking alicarde was some kind of misogynistic pig.
he trembled with the urge to smack the vampire woman, realizing he was completely cornered. she might not care about humans, but he did—he wanted a social life, after all.
elizalina, her face hidden behind a book, wore a satisfied smile, while alicarde silently prayed for some kind of rescue. right on cue, anne amicus, the blonde class rep who had been kidnapped, ran toward him with an excited expression.
"ali, you won't believe what happened yesterday!" she exclaimed breathlessly.
"sup, anne. what's good? heard you were kidnapped. glad to see even the kidnappers didn't want anything to do with you."
"hmph, rude jerk! i'll have—"
"thank goodness you're safe. i was so worried," mark interrupted.
"yeah, i heard someone took you too," one of the other boys added.
"are you okay?" they all chimed in as anne, now aware of her surroundings, seemed to remember she was in public. alicarde shook his head at her behavior.
anne could be quite eccentric—some might say she was a super nerd.
anne blinked before nodding.
"ehm... yeah, i'm fine, i guess."
mark let out a sigh of relief.
"thank god. tell us everything that happened."
anne sat down, still beaming with excitement. alicarde shook his head again. it seemed like anne had forgotten to call mark, even though he was there when she was taken. continue reading on empire
"let's see... okay, you guys won't believe me, but i learned magic."
elizalina raised an eyebrow at alicarde, who merely looked away.
'stopping looking at me like that elly i didn't teach her magic'
anne leaned in closer, eyes gleaming.
"and that's not all—i also made friends with some espers, then i flew in the sky on a demonic horse! and then i went home. the end."
mark frowned, clearly irritated.
"he's right. we were at the nightclub when he started his murder spree. he was terrifying. let's hope you never cross paths with him again."
anne gave a sheepish grin.
"right, you guys are right. i won't be involved with him again... probably. maybe. hopefully."
alicarde was speechless.
"why am i not convinced? look, anne, no getting involved with weirdos and creeps, okay? and say goodbye to your esper friends too."
anne pouted, crossing her arms.
"yes, mom. i'll keep that in mind."
alicarde rolled his eyes.
"i don't have a daughter like you. my children would be good kids."
he then turned to the group, eager to change the subject.
"now, enough about anne and her little misadventures. she's back, and that's what matters. we still have school work to deal with. it might not involve magic powers or flying around, but if we don't get this done, we might get rusticated."
leaning back in his chair, alicarde fiddled with a pen.
"it's a good thing we still have a week before the presentation."
felix glanced up at him with a concerned expression.
"emmh... what? no, we don't."
akimitsu added, "it's today, boss."
alec, who had been quiet until now, nodded.
"professor malefica sent an email yesterday."
alicarde blinked, confused.
"what? come again? what email?"
alec pulled out his phone and showed alicarde the email from 8:30 pm—the exact time when alicarde had been on the roof teasing malefica. alicarde scratched his head, trying to recall.
'that witch, she was angry because i teased her, so she moved the deadline. now that i think about it, she subtly mentioned it.'
pulling out his own phone, alicarde checked his inbox and, sure enough, there it was—an email from malefica. he let out a nervous laugh.
elizalina, who had been watching him closely, sighed but chose to ignore his panic, confident he'd figure something out.
"ah, guys... malefica's class is in two minutes, and, well, i've got nothing to present. what... what do i do?"
felix stood up, shaking his head.
"a moment of silence for our boss. he was a good man. he will be missed."
