Chapter 205: It’s Over

Chapter 205: It’s Over

After a very long chat, not only had Akun told the cosmic entity all about his adventures, but he also told him why and how he got here.

The cosmic entity gestured inquisitively as it remained silent, its thoughts churning away. Its prolonged silence made Akun worried. Inwardly, he mused, "Is he really going to punish me after all? I mean, I told him everything—the truth. It would be impossible to lie in front of someone who can read your mind."

The cosmic entity, overhearing Akun’s thoughts, waved his hand dismissively as his voice echoed from his very being. "As I said, relax. I wouldn’t actually go back to my world. If anything, I should have expected you to have done all the things you did with the amount of power at your fingertips."

The cosmic entity’s words had the opposite effect on Akun. Instead of feeling relaxed, he felt more tense, and he would give anything to not be standing before this terrifying existence.

The cosmic entity then stood up from its throne and started to walk towards Akun, its footsteps echoing in the bluish crystal throne room as it spoke. "But you know, you are kind of a badass, going around enslaving gods and bending them to your will. Out of all the things you told me, I’ve gotta admit that was kind of a shocker. Oh, and the fact you created an alternate timeline."

The cosmic entity then paused momentarily before it added. "The battle between you and your alternate self took the cake though. Going head to head with yourself. Damn, I wouldn’t want that to happen to me. Well, not like it could, but if someone like me were to battle myself, I’m sure all of existence in this section of the framework would be completely erased."

"Framework?" The cosmic entity’s words echoed in Akun’s thoughts as he mused, "Is he trying to say there are... Other planes of existence besides this one?"

The cosmic entity then replied, "Yeah, billions of them, and I must tell you, it’s a pain to manage even one of them if someone just flies around wreaking chaos and messing around with time thinking they are some sort of ’†Ruler’s Envoy†’.

But oh well, it’s not like it will be a problem to fix." The cosmic entity’s laid-back and casual tone seemed to be throwing Akun off, as he couldn’t understand why an entity like him would be talking like some teenager.

Inwardly, Akun mused, "The way this ’being’ behaves completely throws me off. I don’t know if I should treat it as a king or talk to it like a close friend."

The cosmic entity, hearing Akun’s thoughts, then replied, "Hey, I told you to stop calling me ’it.’ Didn’t I already tell you my name?"

Akun then mumbled with a slight hit of fear, "No, you never did." Enjoy more content from novelhall.Côm

"I never did?" The cosmic entity questioned, and then added, "That’s strange. Oh well, my name is ######."

The mention of its name seemed to send very powerful and abnormal bursts of cosmic energy into Akun’s brain, forcing the name to be concealed. It also sent a massive shot of pain.

"Aghhh!" Akun exclaimed as he suddenly fell to his knees, clutching his ears tightly. Inwardly, he mused, "What was that? I couldn’t hear the last words it said, and now my brain feels like it might be completely fried."

The cosmic entity, seeing Akun fall to his knees and cover his ears in pain like that, added, "Oh, I forgot, only †Rulers† can exchange their true names. Seems I’m getting too old, beginning to even forget the basics.

Hmmm, if I were to translate my name, it should sound like this." The cosmic entity then faced Akun again as it said, "My name is †Uner-lock†, and I think it’s time I send you on your way, Akun."

Akun then mumbled, "What of the merging of the alternate timeline with the original one of my world?"

Chrono Nexus leaned in close as she exclaimed, "Yes, you did! Everything is all fine now." She yelled with an excited tone.

Inwardly, Akun mused, "No, it wasn’t me that fixed the timeline; he did, that cosmic being. What did he say his name was again?" Akun tried to recall, but his memory seemed to be blank, and nothing would come to mind.

"But I know he did something to me," Akun muttered. Lost in thought, he didn’t notice when Chrono Nexus crawled up behind him and muttered, "Master, you seem out of it. Did something happen?"

Akun mumbled, "No, I’m just fine." Redirecting his gaze at her, he suddenly saw a peculiar status window pop up in his line of view.

†[>Chrono Nexus< currently genuinely worried/showing signs of falling.]†

Akun mumbled inwardly, "Signs of falling? What is that? And what happened to the system window? Why are crosses used to signify an †Authority† at the outer edges of the system window?"

Akun then called out inwardly, "Hey system, what’s up with the status window."

Suddenly, instead of the usual emotionless system voice he used to hear, Akun heard a rather unique voice, sounding like it belonged to some sort of famous female voice actor.

†[The player doesn’t have to worry, the system simply had an upgrade that’s all.]†

Hearing the rather unique voice, Akun yelled inwardly, "Who the hell are you! What happened to the system."

†[The system, why? What’s wrong?]†

Akun suddenly remained silent as he mumbled inwardly, "I don’t know what that man did, but I preferred the previous system’s voice. This one just makes conversations feel weird."

The system then replied, †[Does the player hate the new system voice?]†

Akun then let out a sigh as he glanced over at Chrono Nexus, who slowly rose to her feet. He mused, "Not really, I just wasn’t expecting a sudden change. Not that I really matters, all I can really think of now is going back to the ant city and checking out if everyone is really alright."

"Are you going now, master?" Chrono Nexus muttered. She came to that conclusion from looking at Akun’s body language; he seemed to have something on his mind. Though his actions were unpredictable, Chrono Nexus could make basic deductions based on what she could see.

Akun then mumbled, "Yes, so I’ll be seeing you later."

Just as he was about to step out of the library of time and existence space, Chrono Nexus interrupted him and said, "Master, hope you haven’t forgotten about the reward you promised me." She spoke in a playful tone.

Akun then halted, turned around, and mumbled, "Yeah, that’s right. So, what do you want?"

Chrono Nexus smiled, tilting her head slightly to the left as she closed her eyes. Blushing, she leaned in close as she said, "Well, I want..."
