Chapter 293 Out Of Control
Chapter 293 Out Of Control
Back in the warehouse, Thalager looked out from the small space, he was in by the door as he mused, "Good, it looks like brother's plan is working." He clenched his fists as he grinned, revealing his fangs.
Meanwhile, Hestria slowly regained her consciousness. As her eyes slowly fluttered open, she could feel a sharp pain in her head. She used both hands to hold her head and noticed she was bleeding. "Where am I... It's so dark," she mumbled as she looked around. The kick Thalager had given her had knocked her out senseless; she had momentarily forgotten she was in the warehouse.
As she looked around, her eyes fell on the carriage, the coachman was knocked out a couple of shelves away from her, and then to a man who stood at the small space of the warehouse door with a small grin.
As her gaze fell upon the his of his silver fur, tail, and ears, Hestria could feel her memories coming back to her. As she saw images of Thalager, flashes of how he was strangling her in his arm above the ground, causing her to tremble in fear.
"I have to get out of here," she mused as she glanced around the warehouse, looking for anything she could use to aid her escape.
------
Back outside, with Leonheart and Akun, a full moon hung overhead, casting a soft silvery glow and gently illuminating their figures, which glinted softly in their armor. A small breeze swept through, carrying the metallic tang of blood in the air. Akun, still gazing at Leonheart, then proceeded to speak, his voice low and commanding. "Speak up.
I want to hear what you have to say regarding what really happened here."
Akun's words left Thalagor, Leonheart, and Thalager, who was watching from the warehouse door, shocked, each of them widening their eyes in disbelief.
As Leonheart locked gazes with Akun, he stuttered as he said, "Are you really going to believe a single word I say?" Find exclusive stories on My Virtual Library Empire
Leonheart felt a wave of relief wash over him at Akun's invitation to share his side of the story. But before he could utter a word, the loss of blood finally took its toll, and he collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.
Watching from the doorway, both Thalagor and Thalager wore satisfied smiles. "About time," they mused in unison, content with the turn of events.
As Leonheart lay unconscious on the ground, Akun muttered to himself, realizing he had forgotten about his own serious wounds and bleeding. "I guess I won't be able to hear what Leonheart has to say," he conceded, his tone tinged with frustration.
Thalagor's grin widened even further as he stepped up to Akun's side, seizing the opportunity. "My liege, since the human has fainted, why don't we call for the Dryads?" he suggested, his voice dripping with false concern.
Akun's brow furrowed as he contemplated his options. "Why am I even beating around the bush?" he muttered to himself, a steely determination entering his gaze. "I could always force the truth out of your mouth."
Meanwhile, Thalager, observing from the warehouse, couldn't shake off a sense of unease. "What is our liege up to?" he murmured, his mind racing with possibilities.
Unbeknownst to them, Hestria was already planning her escape. Due to the fact she heard Akun voice, it gave her a glimmer of hope. So she decided to make a break for it.
As Akun spoke, Thalagor felt a chill run down his spine as he frosen, hie gaze locked with his liege's. Akun then turned around to face him and reached out his hand, saying, "Activate tam--"
Suddenly, the door of the warehouse in the distance swung open, drawing Akun, Thalagor, and Thalager's attention. It was Hestria, and as she stepped out, she immediately yelled, "Save me, my liege." she cried out desperately, hoping to catch Akun's attention.
In that moment, Thalager and Thalagor knew their plan had gone to hell.
