Chapter 320 Over To The Tornament
Chapter 320 Over To The Tornament
As Akun and his party stepped out of the guild building, the midday sun cast long shadows across the cobblestone street. A gentle breeze stirred the air, carrying with it the faint scent of freshly baked bread from a nearby bakery.@@@@
Genreia turned to Akun, her emerald eyes curious. "What's the plan now, master?" she asked, her voice tinged with anticipation.
Akun glanced around at his companions before replying. "I was thinking of heading to the capital," he said thoughtfully. "There's a tournament happening there, and I'd like to participate."
Chrono Nexus raised an eyebrow, her gaze fixed on Akun. "The capital is quite a distance from here," she remarked. "It could take us at least two days to get there on horseback."
Azara, her brows twitching with excitement, turned to Akun. "Are we going to fly there?" she asked eagerly.
Akun shook his head, his expression stoic. "Flying might be faster, but it's not exactly safe," he explained. "I'd rather not draw attention to ourselves and risk being captured and questioned about our origin."
As Chrono Nexus chuckled, her eyes sparkled mischievously. "So, you don't want to draw attention, yet you're eager to participate in a tournament?" she teased, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "Are you implying you have no intention of winning?"
Akun shrugged nonchalantly, his gaze steady. "Exactly," he replied, his tone matter-of-fact. "I'm not in it to win. I just want to enjoy the thrill of combat. Once I reach the finals, I'll make sure to fake losing."
Hestria, her blonde hair catching the sunlight, furrowed her brow in confusion. "But what's the point of that?" she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Akun flashed her a grin, his eyes alight with excitement. "Because it's fun," he said simply.
Hestria felt a twinge of unease at Akun's response, her expression faltering for a moment before she regained her composure.
Tatilia leaned in, her eyes curious as she asked, "So, master, are we supposed to just cheer you on while you participate?"
Kaldarix's eyes sparkled with excitement as he nodded eagerly. "Understood," he replied, a determined expression crossing his face.
Akun gave him a nod of approval before turning his attention to Hestria. "Hestria," he said, his tone gentle yet commanding. "I want you and Chrono Nexus to find an inn where we can all spend the night. And oh," he added, "separate rooms, please."
Hestria blinked, slightly suprised by the request, but quickly composed herself. "Of course, Master," she replied with a nod, her expression neutral despite the slight flush creeping into her cheeks.
Chrono Nexus's disappointment was evident in her voice as she addressed Akun. "Separate rooms? Really, Master? Is this how you plan on fulfilling the request of the Orc Queen?"
As she spoke, Azara's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and she interjected, "Lady Nexus, please mind your words."
Akun maintained a stoic demeanor, though a slight blush tinted his cheeks. He let out a sigh and replied, "Well, we should be on our way now."
Chrono Nexus raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "About that," she began, "you still haven't clarified how we'll be getting there without flying or horses."
Akun's lips curled into a confident smirk. "Simple," he explained. "I'll open a rift. Using the map I created from tracking the movement of Darius and his party, I can instantly get us to one of the alleyways there."

As Akun and his companions conversed, a figure dressed in pristine white robes observed them from a distance. The man, with a mixture of black and silver hair, muttered to himself, "It appears you are here, just as you predicted, Master."
Accompanying him were several other figures clad in similar white attire. One of them inquired, "Master, should we take action now?"
The man shook his head, his expression stern. "No," he replied firmly. "Master instructed us to wait until the Night of the Awakening. For now, our priority is to suppress the demonic activity in the capital."
