Chapter 332: The Gold Dragon Monarch

Chapter 332: The Gold Dragon Monarch

Kaldarix dropped to his knees, overwhelmed by the torrent of images flashing before his eyes. They came faster this time, blurring together. Voices began to echo in his mind, blending with his own thoughts disorienting him.

Suddenly, he was transported into a memory, reliving a scene from his past. He found himself dressed in regal attire, standing amidst his people as they were mercilessly slaughtered. The faces of the gods responsible for the carnage became vivid and clear in his mind, haunting him with their malevolent presence.

As Kaldarix grappled with the haunting memories, a voice echoed behind him, "Why do you think they did this."

Startled, Kaldarix turned to see another version of himself, clad in the same regal attire but bearing wounds and kneeling in agony.

Confusion clouded Kaldarix’s expression as he faced the apparition of himself. "What do you mean?"

Locking eyes with his doppelganger, the kneeling figure spoke with a pained intensity. "What do you think?" he countered. "I’m talking about the gods. Why did they lay waste to our home, slaughter our people? What could we possibly have done to incur their wrath?"

As he spoke, more memories flashed before Kaldarix’s eyes, but this time there was no pain along with them. The images flickered like ghostly apparitions, each one a shard of a shattered past. These memories, however, weren’t mere echoes; they were vivid reminders of a time when glory and honor were the hallmarks of dragonkind.

Yet, despite the peace, these memories caused his expression to darken, casting a shadow over his face.

"We did nothing wrong," Kaldarix murmured, his voice filled with bitterness. "Of all the creatures in existence, we dragons carried ourselves with pride. There was no space for sin in our customs and traditions." His words hung heavy in the air, burdened with the weight of unspoken anguish. Clenching his fists tightly, he fought to contain the tumult of emotions raging within him.

"Yes, and yet they chose to slaughter us without any warning or clear reason," the doppelganger interjected, his voice a mournful echo of lost innocence. With a weary sigh, he managed to rise to his feet, the cries of the dragonfolk echoing like a dirge around them. "And what did we do when faced with such unfair treatment?"@@@@

Aric, seeing this, couldn’t help but smile slightly as he mused, "The first objective has been accomplished. Now, all that’s left is leaving this place with my head intact."

As the barrier shattered and Kaldarix’s mana surged uncontrollably, panic spread among the spectators like wildfire. People screamed and shouted, scrambling to get away from the arena. Some covered their faces from the gusts of wind, while others clung to nearby structures for safety.

Lyra, seated in the VIP section, gasped in horror as she watched Kaldarix’s mana spiral out of control. "What’s happening?!"

Prince Alexander stood up, his expression a mix of shock and concern. "This... what is this?" he muttered, his eyes darting around the chaos unfolding before him.

Meanwhile, the mages in the audience frantically tried to restore the barrier, casting spells in a desperate attempt to contain the surging mana. But their efforts seemed futile against the overwhelming mana emanating from Kaldarix.

"Quickly, we must reinforce the barrier! Use every ounce of your mana!"

"I’m trying, but it’s too much! The mana surge is too powerful!"

"Focus! We can’t let it breach the arena!"

Meanwhile, high above the chaos, King Nevi Von Valistine observed the tumultuous events with growing concern. "What in the world is happening down there?" he demanded, his voice echoing with authority. "Get me a status report immediately, and someone tell the Knight captain to get down there."

Amidst all this growing chaos Akun found himself in a rather peculiar predicament.
