Chapter 229 The Outer God's Virus Evolved (2)

"This was a sanctuary," she said quietly. "One of the most sacred parts of the jungle. The virus is targeting our most important places."

Aurielle knelt beside a patch of withered flowers, her fingers glowing with violet light. "Gift Creation: Bloom Burst!" she declared with a grin.

A series of luminous orbs formed around the flowers, releasing bursts of cleansing energy.

The corrupted plants shuddered, their dark flux dissolving as they returned to their natural state, vibrant and full of life.

The warriors joined the effort, wielding tools imbued with Sorya's flux to cut away the corrupted growths. Slowly but surely, the jungle began to breathe again.

Their path led them to a wide clearing dominated by a colossal serpent-like beast. Its scales shimmered with dark crimson flux, and its glowing eyes radiated malice.

The creature's movements were jerky and unnatural, as though something else was pulling its strings.

"It's evolved," Sorya observed, her flux shimmering with intensity. "The virus is giving it power far beyond what it should have."

Aurielle grinned, flexing her fingers. "Finally, something interesting! Let's see what it's got."

The serpent lunged, its tail crashing to the ground and sending shockwaves through the clearing.

Sorya summoned a barrier of vines, deflecting the attack and redirecting its force into the earth. "Focus on cleansing it!" she called out.

Aurielle snapped her fingers. "Gift Creation: Snare and Purge!"

A glowing net materialized and wrapped around the serpent, constricting as violet energy coursed through its body. The beast writhed, its scales cracking and falling away as the corruption began to weaken.

The serpent roared, breaking free of the net with a surge of dark energy.

"Oh, feisty," Aurielle remarked, leaping back. "Let's try something bigger."

Sorya summoned an emerald spear, hurling it with precision.

The orb struck true, embedding itself within the twisted mass. For a moment, everything was still—then, with a deafening roar, the orb detonated.

A blinding explosion of light engulfed the clearing, its brilliance cutting through the oppressive darkness like a beacon.

The corrupted roots disintegrated into ash, and the lingering aura of the virus evaporated into the air.

As the light faded, the warriors who had been standing at the perimeter broke into cheers. Their voices rose in triumph, echoing through the jungle as the vibrant energy of the land began to return.

The trees, once blackened and lifeless, now shimmered with faint emerald hues, their vitality restored. The jungle itself seemed to breathe again, its oppressive stillness replaced by a growing hum of life.

Aurielle dusted her hands off with an exaggerated flourish, her grin as radiant as ever. "Well, that was fun. Ready to admit I'm the best queen you've ever had?"

Sorya turned to her, her emerald eyes softening. The weight of the battle and the relief of their victory showed in her expression, but there was a glimmer of amusement as well.

"You're insufferable," she said, though her tone held more warmth than irritation.

Aurielle twirled her crown one last time, placing it jauntily on her head with a wide grin. "I'll take that as a compliment. Now, don't get too used to me playing the role of serious queen. It's not really my thing—heroics are exhausting."

Sorya chuckled softly, a sound so rare that it caused a ripple of surprise among the nearby Amazonian warriors. Their queen, known for her sharp authority and stoic demeanor, seemed almost... relaxed in Aurielle's presence.

"I wouldn't dream of it," Sorya said, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

...

The Amazons celebrated their victory beneath the now-healed canopy of the jungle.

The once-corrupted trees glowed faintly with residual energy, their vibrant greens and deep browns restored.

Warriors danced and sang in a circle, their voices echoing through the forest.

Freshly prepared food was shared, and for the first time in weeks, the air was filled with joy rather than tension.
