Chapter 463: Pointless Exam
Chapter 463: Pointless Exam
Alexander and his party had been walking for a while now. They had finally reached the tenth district. The difference between where they first arrived and here was like a desert and oasis.
Alexander left the old man with a good amount of money there as it was a decent area, not filled with criminals.
"Let's go and see what's after the first district," Alexander suggested.
The three kept on running towards that area. When they came to the first district they saw a big crowd gathered around a big building. They went to it to see what was happening.
There they saw a poster on the wall, "Shinō Spiritual Arts Academy Entrance Examination tomorrow?"
"What is this?" Ragnarok loudly exclaimed.
Some guy who wanted to boast spoke, "Hah, you must be new. This is the exam to become a Shinigami. If you pass it you can live inside Seireitei. Your life will be set there. I know I am going to pass. You should not even think about it, you are too old."
Ragnarok ignored the man and looked at Alexander. They nodded. They decided to infiltrate the organization. For the night, they all stayed in a rented room and prepared for the next day.
...
The next day, Alexander and his two friends went to the exam. At the entrance, there was supposed to be a walk-in test to determine if you were even worth letting give the exam. There were hundreds of millions of spirits living in the area so this was necessary.
Alexander only knew that it had something to do with the spiritual power and he, Dobby and Ragnarok were well versed in it.
At the front of the line, they saw many spirits crying to get another chance but they were brutally thrown out.
"Well, this seems competitive," Dobby determined.
"Who knows, let's see what they ask for in the exam," Alexander said and walked forward to get checked. There was a bald man in a black kimono conducting the test.
"Put your hand on this crystal ball," the bald man said.
Alexander was going to do it but before his hand even touched it, the crystal ball started to shine. The bored eyes of the bald man shook open.
"Haha, you are a talented one, please head to hall number 3 for the exam," He gestured at him to enter. Alexander didn't think much and went in.
After him, the same happened with Dobby and Ragnarok's turn.
"Hoh, three talented souls. How lucky you are, I wish I had this much Reiryoku then maybe I would have already become a lieutenant by now." The bald man dreamed after sending them in. Unknown to him, if he had let them touch the orb, he would have peed his pants.
"Okay... next!"
...
Alexander, Dobby, and Ragnarok were separated as they were allotted different rooms. They were all pretty confident in passing as long as the questions were at least scientific.
Then, the time of the Exam came. Alexander read the first question.
[The name of 13th Division Captain Ukitake's Zanpakuto is _________.?]
Alexander was shocked by this nonsensical question. How would he know about someone's personal life? He didn't even know what Zanpakuto was.
He guessed it would be some kind of a pet and answered with a made up name, "Devil Spawn"
Then he read for the next question,
[Lieutenant Yachiru Kusajishi of the 11th Division gave the nickname "Maki-Maki" to 11th Division member _________?]
"Ah, Chomei, you nearly spooked me. And stay invisible. We are on a secret mission." He instructed.
He put Chomei under a double invisibility charm and voice manipulation charm. His voice would only be heard by him and Dobby.
"G-Chan, look... Kurama's brother..." Chomei excitedly pointed.
Alexander and Dobby looked and found a 9 and a half feet tall Wolf-headed man. He looked intimidating by normal standards.
"He looks important," Dobby deduced.
"Yeah, he does. Let's read his mind." Alexander agreed. He subtly and without intruding his deep personal thoughts, read his mind.
He learned a great deal about the world, its different dimensions, and the workings of the Soul Society. He didn't like how it worked though because according to the law, all the souls in soul society were temporarily there.
The Shinigami had the authority to slaughter them to maintain the balance between Hollows and souls. The death of a soul in soul society meant that they'd be reborn in the human world without any memory. He learned about the social hierarchy, their relation with the world, about the history and their geography. To his shock, he even found that 200 years ago, Soul Society carried out a genocide of the Quincy in order to prevent them from unbalancing the world.
Though, he found out that the intimidating Wolfman whose mind he was reading had a heart of gold. He loved dogs and the human world's dog shows.
After he retracted from his mind, he left with Dobby.
"Blue Fang would love to meet that man. His name is Sajin Komamura and he's the captain of the 7th Division." Alexander told them.
"I'll call him big wolfie from now on," Chomei interjected.
"Sure, as long as he doesn't get offended. Okay, Dobby. We can easily enter the Seireitei. There are no barriers for the two of us. But let's do it in the night." Alexander planned.
Dobby nodded, "Okay boss."
*Pop*
"My friends, I came to have some fun. I made a deal with Berry, he will protect my fields now so I am free," Iroh appeared out of nowhere.
Alexander just sent him the memories as he did with Dobby.
Iroh was overwhelmed, "Ah, never in my life had I thought I'd see death gods."
"Yes, death gods with small g. Or maybe they don't even have a 'g' because I find them very weak." Alexander judged.
After that, they planned for their border jumping in the night.
...
Meanwhile, Ragnarok was going through another test.
