The next morning I was woken up by Charlie's alarm clock, and I swear, Charlie made the cutest whining noise in the world, so much so that even though I was still bleary-eyed, I couldn't help but start laughing.

He turned off the alarm clock, turned over and asked, "What?"

"Don't go to school today, okay. You don't have to go, it's academic leave." Then I put him in my arms, and he closed his eyes, muttering, "Okay."
