Chapter 212 Was the mysterious woman really Betty? Part2
I knew it was time to elevate my surveillance game, so under the cover of night, I swapped out the cameras in my house and attic.
I installed high-end cameras that could transmit wireless signals.
This way, even when I wasn't around, I could monitor everything through a dedicated app.
But tonight, my mind was restless, unable to find peace even for a moment.
I dressed quickly, stepped into my van, and grabbed a few essential tools.
I had taken time off for this mission, and my van was stocked with an array of tools, including climbing gear.
I grabbed a rope and stealthily approached the back of the small courtyard.
The area was desolate, on the edge of a single-story neighborhood and the city itself.
Between a residential building and an outbuilding, I found a narrow gap.
Using the rope, I began to climb.
As an amateur rock climber, this level of climbing was no challenge for me.
Moreover, escaping is a basic skill for a journalist, and I was well-prepared.
Before entering the courtyard, I had done my homework.
First off, there were no dogs; a relief since their presence could have compromised my entry.
Luckily, it seemed the owner was seldom home and didn't have time to care for such pets.
Before making my move, I scoped out the area through the attic camera and noticed several cameras installed around the yard.
In today's surveillance-heavy society, that wasn't unusual.
But as a seasoned journalist, dealing with surveillance was child's play.
I had planned my route carefully to stay out of the cameras' line of sight, moving in their blind spots.
However, once inside, I realized I had underestimated the owner's vigilance.
Cameras were installed in every corner, leaving virtually no blind spots.
For anyone else, this place would be impenetrable.
But as a journalist, I knew how to handle this situation.
The cameras were positioned to capture movement below, but they neglected the space above—a common oversight since no one expects intruders from the sky.
Clutching my rope, I stood at the edge of the wall and climbed onto the outbuilding's roof.
Though the lights were on, the living room was empty.
On either side of the room, there were four doors, likely leading to different rooms.
Two of these rooms were lit, and from one, the sound of running water mixed with a faint singing could be heard.
It seemed the homeowner was taking a shower.
My eyes scanned the attic floor, hoping to find another gap above the other rooms, but the craftsmanship of the past carpenters was too precise; not a single gap was found.
The only gap I had was due to the attic's trapdoor being old and not closing properly.
I had no choice but to wait patiently, lying there, waiting for the mysterious man to finish his shower.
As the seconds ticked by, I struggled to remain patient, eager yet fearful to see the man's true face.
What if he really was my own son?
What would I do if it was confirmed?
Just as I was lost in thought, the sound of water finally stopped.
I knew the person inside had finished.
I rubbed my eyes and focused intently on the door.
About five minutes later, the door finally opened.
With a creak, a man slowly emerged, his head covered with a towel as he dried his hair, walking and wiping simultaneously.
The man was completely naked, his muscular body fully exposed.
What drew the eye most was the thick, dark pubic hair around his groin, so dense it almost covered his genitals.
His thighs and stomach were also covered in dark hair.
Most notably, his flaccid penis dangled between his legs, swinging as he moved.
Even without an erection, it was about 6 inches long.
"Is this really a human penis?" I wondered silently.
It could probably get even longer if erect... maybe even enough to rival a horse.
However, because the man had draped a large towel over his head to dry his hair, I couldn't see his face clearly.
By the time he finished with his hair and started to dry his body, he had moved to the center of the living room.
From my elevated vantage point, I could only see the top of his head unless he looked up, allowing me to see his face clearly.
