After securing the relic, Damien and Mira found themselves in an eerie calm, a quiet so dense it felt unnatural. The relic pulsed in Mira’s hands, emitting an energy that made Damien uneasy. It was clear this power was more than just a weapon against the undead—it was alive, feeding on something deeper, something darker.

As they left the cavern, an unexpected sight halted them. Before them lay a small, abandoned village, ghostly in its silence, but as they entered, they realized it wasn’t entirely empty. Faint, transparent forms drifted through the shadows—former villagers, cursed souls now bound to the relic’s energy.

"Mira, look." Damien pointed, his voice barely above a whisper.

Mira watched as one of the phantoms passed close by, its face contorted in silent agony. She took a step back, her hand tightening around the relic.

"Are they... trapped because of this thing?" she asked, looking down at the relic with growing horror.

In a last, desperate attempt, Mira lifted the relic high and shouted, "If you want this, come and claim it!"

The spirits paused, drawn to her words. For a moment, everything went still. Then, one by one, they floated toward the relic, touching it, merging into it. The relic absorbed them, glowing brighter with each soul it claimed, until the village was empty once more.

Breathing heavily, Mira lowered the relic, looking at Damien with troubled eyes. "How many more will this thing demand before we’re done?"

Damien placed a hand on her shoulder. "We’ll find out. But if this is what it takes to end the Zombie King’s curse... then we’ll pay the price."

Together, they walked away from the haunted village, the relic now heavier than ever in Mira’s hands. They had their weapon, but with it came a dark and terrifying responsibility.
