"Hmm...? Lucifer, do you see that shining thing in the sky?" Shi Shun spoke with a dry voice, her tone weary as she was being dragged along by the 6th Young Master.

Although the sun was shining brightly on this midday evening, something even brighter made its presence known to her. Shi Shun noticed this occurrence right away and pointed it out to the happy-go-lucky 6th Young Master.

"Look, Lucifer! There is really something up there! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, I think it's a...!!" Shin Shun suddenly stopped in her tracks, her voice rising in exclamation.

"Huh?"

Lucifer 'realized' it all a little too late as he shot his gaze up to the sky, only to witness a giant rock hurtling toward the ground!

"Oh no! It seems like this Young Master is destined to die! Oh, the woes...! Sorrow, sorrow... Exclamation mark, exclamation mark!"

Lucifer immediately collapsed to the ground and started lamenting all the injustices of existence.

Under the astonished gaze of both Shi Shun and the onlookers, Lucifer was flattened by the space rock!

He died right then and there, not even leaving behind a corpse for a proper burial!

Lucifer looked up from a hidden nook underground, only to see monstrous void creatures crawl around on a black, murky surface. Their countless legs and eyes spiraled in circles as they eerily limped against the ground, searching for any sign of human life.

'One might wonder how I got here... And that is something I'd like to fucking know too!'

Just as she was about to move in with the full extent of her power and take the 6th Young Master by surprise, a sudden phenomenon occurred in the sky above.

"Hmm?" She looked up, slightly irritated that this nonsense had ruined the mood.

However, what she saw next was something that left her slack-jawed, and it wasn't because of the 6th Young Master's big something.

"Is that a...?"

"Not a bird, nor a plane... and definitely not a Superman. It's a monster horde rift... and from the looks of it, nothing is natural about its formation." A sharp glint flickered in Lucifer's usually apathetic gaze as he traced the purple fluctuations in the sky.

A massive, mile-wide monster rift opened up in the center of the city, looming over Riversea like the gaping maw of a giant beast.

"Hey, My Love..."

"Yes, Luci...?"

"I think we should run."

"Yes... We should..."

With a shared light nod of understanding, the two bolted away from the Spiritual Pool Congregation. Their destination for now being the north of the Great Mormonga Forest.

If they could make it that far without falling prey to some Spiritual Beast, then they could make it to a safehold that the Devilduke Family had maintained for their personnel.

Of course, a Monster Beast Rift was the last thing Lucifer could be afraid of. In fact, he had already sent his Clone Force toward the source of the rift, where they were lying in wait in plain view, each with their own unique disguises.

These clones were disguised as a foreign travellers' group, ready to 'assist' the common folk under the guise of helping those in need.
