Chapter 98 Seaside City

The Second Volume - The Two Geniuses.

The water of the sea splashed against the port city's harbor walls. The sky above was a brilliant shade of blue as the sun was hovering high in the sky.

The seaside city was right beside the vast, almost endless sea that was commonly known as "World Seas," and the salty scent of the ocean lingered in the air.

The world of martial arts was a strange place, and so was the look of the world. The World Seas circled around the world, splitting it into two main regions.

Those two main regions stood at separate poles of the planet, separated by the World Seas.

The region where the majority of humanity lived was called the Martial World, while the other region on the other side of the World Seas was infamously called the Dead World.

Those two regions were immensely large, and thus, Martial World, even though it was only one-third of the world, still housed thousands of countries.

The World Seas, on the other hand, had thousands of islands.

It made the population of the world nearly ten billion, but no one actually knew the exact number because of the Dead World.

No one actually knew whether anyone was alive there.

Seaside City, the second day of the year.

A wild-looking young man walked down the city's streets. It was quite warm here even though it was winter in most regions of New Rakuya, but Seaside City had a tropical climate all year round.

The young man was tall, with long, unkempt hair that blew in the gentle breeze. The hair, while unkempt and wild, still made him look quite dangerously attractive and mysterious at the same time.

With the tropical climate, he wore a loose, white linen shirt that billowed in the wind; black trousers and then sandals completed the outfit.

'What time is it?' Kiernan took out his phone and saw that it was about an hour before the ship departed from the harbor.

"Huh..." Kiernan finished the drink, then paid for it, and with backpack in hand, started heading towards the ship.

While checking his ticket number, he soon found the ship, and while it wasn't the biggest ship available, it had fortified walls and looked sturdy enough for the journey ahead.

The passengers were slowly boarding the ship.

After Kiernan reached the deck, he gave the ticket to the ship attendant and then sat on one of the wooden benches along the railing.

"?" Kiernan looked over and saw one of the passengers lying on one of the beach chairs, fast asleep with a loud snore.

He was also a young man, around the same age as Kiernan, and he was very handsome with crazy, white spiky hair with some red strands of hair mixed in.

'I haven't seen anyone with such crazy hair before.' Kierna thought, and then saw that his skin was quite tanned as if he was sun-kissed. 'A foreigner?'

"The ship is leaving!" The captain shouted, urging the passengers to board quickly.

The last passengers hurried up the ramp, and then the gangplank was pulled up as the ship started to sail away from the port.

The ship cut through the water like a knife, and the Seaside City started to slowly disappear.

"Whoo..." Kiernan leaned over the railing, enjoying the fresh air and the feeling of freedom.

'I was already getting used to the freezing temperatures of Irio, but in the World Seas, it's so warm. I've read about this place and how strange the climates are there.

'There are islands that are fully covered in snow with freezing climates, but the surrounding waters are still warm without any ice in sight.

'Very strange, and I've read about some islands having only night time—Nightingale being one of them, known as the City of the Night.'

Kiernan smiled, excited about his incoming adventure.
