Cum laude: it's latin language meaning "with honor". In some university in various countries, it needed the cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4 and above. There were also two other pedigrees above it but the requirement usually depends on the university.

There were also some other specific requirement for some university such as never repeating class and etc. But in short, it was not that easy to obtain this pedigree unless you worked hard. :)

(I took this reference from my university where I learned years ago and hearing of some other university that also used this method, but I didn't mention the specific requirement since each university can be different.
