Runemaster in the Last Days

Chapter 982 984: Lock

Chapter 982 984: Lock

Amelia stared blankly before asking, "If I'm not wrong, it hadn't recorded your mana signature, right?"

This lock has only been invented around 8 months ago.

And at that time, it had already caused quite a stir because people felt that they would have additional security in many things.

After all, everyone's mana signature is different.

Just like fingerprint.

No one has the same fingerprint in the entire world.

The mana signature was the same and they already have device to record the mana signature through inputting mana. Though, the amount of mana needed to input was still not efficient enough and the researchers were still working on it.

But it was good enough for them.

After all, they would not really record more people's mana signature into this system.

And when this device was made, Riya was clearly still in the other world. Samuel had only recorded his mana signature these days after his return since he wanted to modify the training grounds.

But how about Riya?

How did she bypass this security?

Amelia was stunned.

"Ah, yes." Riya nodded.

"Then how did you open it?!"

"...Mel, I think I need to tell you that this security system is nothing in front of a rune master." Riya shook her head helplessly.

Through using runes and inputting her mana, she simply added her mana signature into the list of the recorded mana signature. This way, she would be able to open the door too without the need to wait for others.

Perhaps other magicians would be confused how to deal with this lock.

But Riya's runes were very versatile and she herself could easily deal with this kind of lock within seconds.

No, a split second was enough.

After all, her speed of drawing runes was exceptional.

"...I'll consult this with the researchers later," Amelia muttered to herself as she looked at the lock resentfully.

She was absolutely sure that the researchers would be devastated.

Their proudest invention was cracked by Riya in just a split second. It seemed that their hard work over the years would turn to waste.

Riya didn't pay attention to Amelia's resentful look.

Anyway, there were not many rune masters like her who could do this.

The other returnee who could replicate her action should be Leon since he's a weapon refiner. This kind of device would be nothing much in their eyes and he could easily crack it if he wanted to.

Bang!

Inside the training ground, mana surged up and Riya easily formed a shield for herself and Amelia behind her.

Through the intense wind, she could see that Arnold was standing in front of Samuel with his arm raised in blocking posture. There were some cuts and blood on his arm, but his expression showed no pain.

On the other hand, Samuel was controlling the wind element and there were several deep marks on the walls. It was obvious that these were formed from the wind element.

"Arnold!" Amelia's face changed when she saw Arnold was injured.

"Mel?" Arnold was stunned and wanted to tell her to stay further away. Even though Samuel's control over his magic was exceptional, he didn't want Amelia to take any risk.

Swish!

The wind disappeared in instant and Samuel shook his head. "You're still not strong enough, Arnold."

"Ah, thanks for your guidance." Arnold let out a wry laugh.

For Samuel to use the wind element instead of fire and lightning element was already a form of mercy. After all, Samuel focused on fire and lightning element, so he would be the strongest in these two elements.

But the wind and earth elements were relatively weaker and if he were to use it, he wouldn't necessary able to showcase the same power as the other two elements.

"Healing runes," Riya said as she lifted her finger and drew some runes. The next second, it flew towards Arnold and merged into his body, recovering his injuries in an instant.

Arnold clenched his hand and could feel that all of his injuries have already recovered. He smiled gratefully. "It's even more powerful than the healing magic scrolls."

"The healing magic scrolls are either rank 1 or rank 2 healing magic spells. Only Ruben can make a higher ranked one!" Amelia said as she hugged Arnold from behind. After that, she glared at her older brother. "Why do you have to hit Arnold, Brother?"

"We're sparring." Samuel rolled his eyes.

If he really wanted to hurt Arnold, he would not have used the wind element but the lightning element.

One magic spell would be enough to kill a rank 6 magic warrior.

"Oh? It seems Ruben has been doing well." Riya's eyes lit up. She has been worried that no one would be able to learn the runes well after she left. It seemed that she didn't have to worry so much with Ruben around.

"Ruben said that he wants to ask for some advice when you come back," Arnold added.

Learning by himself was not impossible, but Ruben still needed guidance from his master for some things.

"I'll see him later."

Riya glanced at Samuel and then asked, "Shall I report to your father first?"

"I'll take you to see City A Base first," Samuel said without hesitation and then grabbed Riya's hand before walking out of the training ground.

Arnold saw this scene and chuckled.

"Arnold, let's go to the research institute."

"Why?"

"I need to tell them that their lock is not useful in front of a rune master!" Amelia recounted how Riya unlocked the door in an instant.

It was so fast that Amelia felt that she didn't even had the chance to blink.

Arnold was speechless.

"Mel, you don't think that other people can replicate what Riya did, right?"

"Ah?"

"Just think about how other rune masters are doing... We don't need to replace the lock anytime soon. But we can talk to them about designing a better one that can even block rank 8 magician."
