Chapter 283: Vexical Prime: Short Bout

"This is Spectre Jace," He spoke over the channel as he focused on what he was seeing. The battle had escalated and the angel front the Holy Empire was decapitating one of the vampires while the Talus Mercenaries had taken back control of their building. They were now backing up while focused on the Holy Empire soldiers.He watched them for a moment before remotely activating the shielding. Protecting them from the Holy Empire enemies. He aimed the sniper at the Holy Empire soldiers and took a few shots. After the second they took cover behind buildings. While the angel moved to the armored vehicle while using those things that made up her wings to block his bullets.

The armored vehicle opened up and she jumped down. He blinked in surprise and then watched as the mech it was using earlier in the day came out of the armored vehicle. Jace put the sniper on his back as he ran to the edge of the roof while looking towards the Holy Empire soldiers.

The mech was moving out of the back of the armored vehicle and pulled a large weapon out of the vehicle. Seems he was right to decide he needed to move to a different building.

"Spectre Jace this is Director Fenrir-"

"Hold on a second." Jace interrupted her as he made a quick channel connection. "Shepard this is Jace. Mine through the floor and get those civilians out of the Talus Mercenary building. I have sufficiently distracted the Holy Empire troops."

"Understood." Was all the confirmation that Shepard gave him before disconnecting.

"Jace, were you just talking with the Union Spymaster?" Director Fenrir asked in surprise.

"Affirmative. Our operations aligned since your last order was to assist civilians." Jace informed her as he grunted and jumped to another building. Just in time too as the roof of the building he was just on was slammed by several bullets from the Holy Empire mech. The building began loudly falling while Jace kept moving but partially turned towards the enemy mech.

Getting a better look at the mech in the process. It appears to be a Knight-class mech, which was the middle ground for mechs. It could be modified to be space capable, but they did not start out that way. This one appears to be building for speed and maneuverability.

Jace aimed the tri-cannon and fired several times. He was aiming wide so he blanketed the area around the mech with cannon shot fire. He was no longer worried about the Talus Mercenary building so he let loose.

The mech adjusted its aim and Jace fired a few shots at the mech hitting it with the first two before it dashed to the side. With visible damage on one of its arm joints and a frontal plate. It fired again at the building that Jace was on. He could hear a whistle as one of the enemy bullets flew over his head. back. But we will have to redirect to wage war on multiple fronts. Both the Woltar and the Oda Empire have declared their willingness to join us. But the Oda Empire says they need assistance with one of their planets when we have the chance." Director Fenrir began making a plan in her head, he could almost hear the gears turning. "Aside from the full-on invasion and the massive destruction planetwide. The plan went off successfully."

Jace shook his head, "we can discuss that later. Let’s focus on breaking the enemies and causing them to scatter so we can start escorting civilians off the planet."
