Chapter 380: the beginning

"Argon?" Silva asked.

"Yes, Argon is your world, the world I am goddess over, just like your Earth, but Argon is very different and special," she followed up.

She got up from where she sat and walked to Silva. "For the last time, I'll ask you to believe in me and come," she said and stretched out her hands.

Silva looked at her hands, not sure of what action to really take. He took a deep breath and then held her hand.

"I have nothing to lose at this point. I might as well see what you want to show me," he said. She nodded in response, and then suddenly, everywhere changed.

They appeared inside a small room, where a young Ophelia stood near a table.

The room was made of a simple human design, though with some inexplicable things, like a plant that was dancing by the window, a floating bed, and floating lights.

"Is that you?" Silva asked.

"Yes, but me in my memories. All you are seeing now is my memories," she said.

"You look more than sixteen. Do gods age?" Silva asked.

"Natural-born gods age, but their aging stops after maturity or whenever they feel they have achieved their perfect look.

Some gods feel like the old look suits them more, and so they allow themselves to look like that," she responded.

I tried to hide this fact. I tried to cover it and make sure that no one found out, but the evil god helped Order find out the wrongs I committed by using the blood of a god.

And that was the beginning of my pain and all my struggles. Order came after me, and he decided to wipe away my world and give me a new start. But I had so much planned for this world, and I promised that I could fix it. I refused the offer.

Order then gave me an ultimatum. I could not affect this world actively, and every time that I did that, I would suffer for it.

I could also never destroy the races I created, and I could not create new races. I would have to leave the running of my world to the races that I had created.

That was too much, and I would not be able to do or fix anything at all. That was too far, and it was basically saying I would no longer have a world to rule over.

After much begging and pleading and bending of logic, I got Order to allow me a certain amount of control. All I had to do was find a way to stop the demons and the celestials without having a hand in their lives directly.

Order watched me closely, and soon I filled the world with the celestials and the demons. After that, I created the world tree—the tree that tapped into my power and allowed them to create more life.

This tree became the center of contention after thousands of years, and then war broke out—humans and the celestials, other races and the demons—an unending war that spanned thousands of years.

Argon was taking the brunt of this war, and with every passing time, the war was causing Argon to start falling apart, and I could not allow this to happen.

And then I discovered the demons making a new race that was far different from what I had seen. It was a dragon, but a dark dragon.

I saw that as my opportunity. I could take the risk of planting the seed. So what I did was remove limitations from their creation, making the dark dragon an unstoppable figure.

This was something I wasn't supposed to do. In the eyes of Order, I shouldn't have, and so I got punished again, with more of my access removed. But I had done what I needed to do already. I had created the weapon I would use to free myself."
