Chapter 037: I’m a Tier Four Archer.
Morning.
“Huh?” Liyue opened her eyes, immediately noticing that her surroundings were unfamiliar. She sat up abruptly.
It took her a moment to realise she was no longer living in a crevice or a pile of rocks out in the wild.
“It’s been so long since I’ve slept this well,” Liyue said as she stretched, her silver eyes curiously scanning the room.
The room was simply furnished. Apart from a bed, the walls were adorned with swords and knives hanging from spider silk. There was nothing else.
“So this is a man’s room? Doesn’t seem all that special.”
Sitting at the edge of the bed, Liyue swung her legs while glancing repeatedly at the wall covered in weapons.
Right—aside from that wall, there really wasn’t anything notable about the room.
After sitting idly for a while, she got up and left the room.
Outside, she saw Mu Liang sketching something at the table, while Mino was stirring breakfast in a pot.
“Good morning,” Liyue greeted.
Mu Liang looked up and asked gently, “How did you sleep last night?”
“Not bad,” Liyue replied, her cheeks tinged with red.
“Good to hear. Come and have breakfast,” Mu Liang said, waving her over.
Mino brought the pot to the table and handed out utensils.
Since there weren’t enough wooden bowls, they used metal lunchboxes instead. Each person received a portion of meat soup and a large piece of roasted meat.
“Don’t just stand there. Eat up,” Mu Liang said, noticing the two girls staring at him without moving.
He took a sip of the soup to set an example, prompting the girls to start eating too.
“Ah~” Liyue drank the soup and let out a satisfied sigh.
“Ah~” Mino, not to be outdone, gulped hers down enthusiastically.
Mu Liang smiled as he watched the bunny-eared girl, who seemed to have turned the meal into a competition, while he leisurely chewed on his roasted meat.
“Mu Liang, aren’t you planning to move today?” Liyue asked after setting down her bowl and licking her lips.@@@@
She pleaded, “Let’s move somewhere farther away so Bloodbeard’s gang can’t catch up to us.”
“That’d be difficult unless you travel light,” Liyue chimed in softly.
Glancing at the hall filled with items, she figured they’d have to abandon at least 90% of their belongings to outrun Bloodbeard’s gang.
All that work last night would’ve been for nothing, she thought.
“It’s not like we’re taking the Crystal Fish to the Moon Lake Tribe.”
Mu Liang patted Mino’s hand reassuringly. “Don’t forget, we have Little Xuanwu with us.”
His reasons for visiting the Moon Lake Tribe extended beyond Mino’s request—he wanted to explore other ways to obtain ferocious beast crystals.
Last night, the rock-armoured turtle had evolved to Level 4, using up another 1,000 evolution points.
Now, Mu Liang was once again worried about collecting more points.
“But... the Bloodbeard thieves will chase us,” Mino said, her pretty face filled with concern.
Mino was easily contented. If it meant avoiding danger, she’d rather not visit the Moon Lake Tribe, believing there’d be opportunities to go later.
“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure they won’t dare to pursue us again,” Mu Liang said, his black eyes flashing coldly.
“Don’t underestimate Bloodbeard. I suspect he’s at least a Tier Four Enhancer,” Liyue warned.
“And what tier are you?” Mu Liang asked curiously, seeing the white-haired girl as a useful benchmark for gauging strength.
“I’m a Tier Four Archer,” Liyue said, raising her chin with a hint of pride.
After a brief pause, she added modestly, “In close combat, I’d be about equal to a Tier Three Enhancer.”
“Well, that’s impressive,” Mu Liang said, though his twitching eye betrayed his amusement. He felt he could easily take her down with one hand.
“What do you mean by that’s impressive???” Liyue’s forehead creased, finding his tone oddly infuriating.
Mu Liang chose not to answer, instead smiling as he asked, “Which direction is the Moon Lake Tribe?”
“Over there,” Liyue said, puffing her cheeks as she pointed in a direction.
“You’ll be our guide for the journey,” Mu Liang declared, deciding she was the best choice for the task.
Seeing that she couldn’t dissuade him, Liyue sighed and asked, “What are you planning to take to the Moon Lake Tribe?”
“Everything, of course,” Mu Liang replied matter-of-factly.
“???” Liyue stared at him, dumbfounded by his sheer greed.
