Chapter 12
Chapter 12
Liana closed the book and stretched out her hand.
“?”
What did this mean?
Loraviel wasn’t entirely sure, but since Liana had already extended her hand, she... hesitantly reached out and placed her own hand on top of it.
“What are you doing?” Liana looked at Loraviel, puzzled.
“I-I'm sorry, Lady Liana.”
Liana sighed. “Help me take off the bandages. It’s inconvenient to do it alone.”
“Oh, uh, yes.”
Loraviel carefully unwrapped Liana’s bandages. Were these wounds from earlier today, when she lashed out for her sake?
This was the first time Loraviel had ever touched Liana’s body. Her hand was soft—pleasant to the touch.
“I’m sorry, Lady Liana, for causing you to get hurt.”
“This has nothing to do with you. I just found her annoying, that’s all.” Liana examined her palm. It was almost healed, but she knew better than to ignore the doctor’s advice—it was best to change the medicine daily. She was painfully aware of how fragile this body was.
“Come with me.” Liana got up and walked into the bathroom.
Loraviel’s hands trembled. Was it finally happening?
“Lady Liana...”
“What is it?” Liana had already begun taking off the outer layers of her clothing.
“T-This... isn’t something a maid is supposed to do, is it?” Loraviel bit her lip and forced the words out.
“And why wouldn’t it be?” Liana asked, genuinely confused. “Or are you saying I should go out of my way to hire a servant just to scrub my back?”
So it was just that? Only scrubbing her back?
But Loraviel’s odd reaction told Liana enough—she had clearly been thinking about something much more interesting just now.
Yet no matter how careful she was, there were still moments when their skin would brush against each other. Each time, Loraviel couldn’t help but acknowledge one thing—Liana’s body was truly soft.
Finally, she rinsed away the suds with warm water. Liana’s long platinum hair, which had been neatly pinned up, cascaded down, gliding over her back like liquid silk.
"Go wait outside. I'll soak for a little longer." Liana dipped one foot into the bath before casually adding, "Of course, if you’d like, we could always soak together."
"I've already bathed, Lady Liana. Please enjoy it on your own. I’ll go prepare your tea." Loraviel bowed and quickly excused herself.
After setting up the tea and preparing some light refreshments, Loraviel stood uneasily in the room.
Fortunately, Liana didn’t keep her waiting for long.
She emerged dressed in a white nightgown, golden strands of hair dripping with water. With her uninjured hand, she wiped at her damp hair.
Loraviel stepped forward. "Lady Liana, allow me."
She reached for a towel and gently began drying Liana’s hair.
Such a considerate, obedient little maid—so adorable that it was almost heartbreaking. If it were anyone else, they’d likely be too shaken to even function properly after experiencing something like this.
Liana’s hair was incredibly smooth to the touch, even fresh out of the bath. It carried a subtle, pleasant fragrance.
She was as beautiful as a porcelain doll—yet inside, she was pure darkness.
Liana raised her hand. This time, she didn’t even need to say anything—Loraviel already knew what to do.
She picked up the ointment, carefully applying it to Liana’s injured hand before wrapping it with a fresh bandage. To finish, she tied it off with a neat, delicate bow.
"It’s done. You may go ba—"
Liana froze mid-sentence.
Her persona was already well established, and considering her own nature, there was no way she’d simply let Loraviel leave just like that.
Besides, if she dismissed Loraviel now, after keeping her here for over half an hour, it would definitely raise suspicions—not just about herself, but also about Loraviel.
And so—
"Get in my bed first and warm it up for me."
