Everyone knew that Liana had never been able to use magic since childhood. She harbored an intense hatred and jealousy toward commoners and servants who could wield it. For her to suddenly ask such a question—nothing good could possibly come of it.@@@@

Liana glanced around. This wasn’t an ideal place to use magic.

"Come with me for a moment," Liana said.

Alright. Loco was now certain—she was next in line to be tormented.

Silently, Loco crushed the magic stone that Nabet had given her. In a world without mobile phones or any means of rapidly transmitting information, magic stones were the only alternative.

Though they couldn’t relay thoughts, they could send a signal, letting the recipient know that something urgent had happened.

Nabet received the signal immediately. To ensure that nothing happened to Loco, she had to find Liana at once.

"That’s enough practice for today."

Nabet looked at Loraville, whose forehead was lightly damp with sweat.

Loraville was diligent, quick-witted—she learned instantly and executed her movements with precision. But the more Nabet saw this, the more she pitied her. The more she felt that Loraville was truly unfortunate.

"Mm." Loraville nodded.

Nabet handed Loraville an emblem. "This is the Venus family crest. You can use it to purchase anything you need within our territory without worrying about the price. Someone will handle the payment later."

Loraville took the emblem, but she still seemed at a loss. Even if she had it, what did it matter? Without Liana’s orders, she didn’t dare leave this place.

"Don’t worry. This is a direct command from Lady Liana. Besides, your clothes don’t seem to fit well. The maid uniform will take a few more days, so in the meantime, go buy some regular clothes to change into."

"Mm..."

"I’ll be back tomorrow." Nabet left the room and headed straight for the back garden.

She arrived quickly and hid in a secluded corner, observing the two figures. If anything happened, she would intervene immediately.

Liana sat beneath the pavilion, her small feet dangling in the air, swinging slightly. Resting her chin in her hands, she gazed at Loco. "Let me see it. Your magic."

Loco hesitantly looked around. No one suspicious was in sight. They weren’t inside a room, and she had already notified Lady Nabet. There shouldn’t be any problems.

Liana also exhaled in relief. Good—Nabet had come. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have known what to do with Loco.

If she did nothing to her, Loco might spread rumors later and cause trouble. But if she actually harmed her, Nabet wouldn’t let it slide.

"Understood." Loco bowed to Liana and left.

"Nabet, has Loraville’s training ended?" Liana asked.

"Yes. She’s intelligent and hardworking. She learns at twice the speed of others," Nabet replied.

Twice the speed?

Liana wasn’t sure if she wanted Loraville to be learning that fast. She still hadn’t decided what to do about her.

"Where is she now?" Liana asked.

"Since today’s lessons are finished, and her clothes don’t fit well, I sent her to buy some garments and daily necessities. The maid uniform is still being made, and she just moved in. She should be at Lisat Square shopping now."

"Lisat Square?" The largest trade hub in Venus Territory.

"Then let’s head there as well," Liana said. She had no particular destination in mind anyway.

"Understood."

This was precisely one of the reasons Nabet had insisted on accompanying Liana today. If it had been Loco, she might not have been able to manage Liana properly. And since she had given Loraville permission to shop, it was her duty to ensure both Loraville’s and Loco’s safety.

A carriage pulled up before them.

Nabet opened the door, allowing Liana to step inside, then took the reins herself and steered the carriage toward Lisat Square.

Inside the carriage, Liana leaned out the window, taking in the scenery.

Everything was so new. She occasionally spotted creatures she had never seen before.

Before long, Lisat Square came into view.

"Lady Liana, we’ve arrived." Nabet unfurled a parasol, opened the carriage door, and extended a hand to assist Liana down.
