Chapter 216 Harsh Environment.
Chapter 216 Harsh Environment.
As Jun Luochuan and Su Yao lost time in this vast wilderness, it flowed away silently and ruthlessly like sand in an hourglass. The harsh environment they faced was like a terrifying drama that was escalating, becoming increasingly ferocious and severe.
The gale, like a raging, out-of-control beast, howled and swept in, its force seemingly intent on tearing the world to shreds. The sand and dust carried by the gale were like a hail of bullets, relentlessly pelting their delicate faces, stinging their cheeks as if pierced by countless sharp needles. Su Yao tightly shielded her face with her hands, her slender fingers appearing so powerless against the raging wind. Her eyes were forced shut by the sand and dust, almost impossible to open, like two windows forcibly shut.
"This wind is terrifying! It feels like countless demonic hands are desperately pulling us away, trying to drag us into an endless abyss of darkness!" Su Yao shouted hoarsely. Her voice was so weak amidst the howling wind, as if it might be swallowed up at any moment.
Jun Luochuan gritted his teeth, his resolute face like a hard rock, struggling to stand firm like a lighthouse standing tall amidst a raging storm. "Don't be afraid, this is nothing. Are you scared by this little bit of wind and waves?" His words, though firm, sounded strained in the gale.
The cold, like a treacherous serpent, silently and deadly coiled around her. The night temperature plummeted, as if the entire world had been plunged into a giant ice cellar. Su Yao shivered uncontrollably, her teeth chattering, her voice like a rapid drumbeat, "Jun Luochuan, I feel like I'm about to be frozen into an ice sculpture, my blood is about to congeal." Her voice trembled, filled with deep fear and helplessness.
Jun Luochuan glared at her fiercely, but a hint of concern flashed in his eyes. He then took off one of his own clothes and roughly handed it to her, saying, "Put this on. Don't be so delicate! You can't even stand this little bit of cold?"
However, this was only the beginning of a nightmare. The torrential rain poured down like a burst dam, without warning. The large raindrops were like boulders thrown by an angry god, mercilessly hitting them and soaking them to the bone, making them look like two drowned rats.
"Ugh, why did this rain start so suddenly? It's practically going to drown us here!" Su Yao complained angrily, her expression like that of a bullied child.
Jun Luochuan frowned, his eyebrows like two tangled earthworms. "Stop arguing! Hurry up and find a place to take shelter from the rain. If we dawdle any longer, we'll all die here!" His voice was urgent and stern.
They trudged onward in the rain, their steps heavy and unsteady, as if each step drained all their strength. But all around them was nothing but a desolate, hopeless wilderness. That wilderness, like an endless, deathly desert, relentlessly devoured their hope.
At that moment, lightning flashed and thunder roared. Streaks of lightning, like ferocious silver serpents, ripped through the dark night sky, their dazzling light instantly illuminating their disheveled figures. Each bolt of lightning was like an angry lash from heaven, sending chills down one's spine.
"What are we going to do? Are we really going to die here?" Su Yao's voice was filled with endless fear and despair, like the last cry of a lost soul in the darkness.
Jun Luochuan's gaze remained as firm as iron, his eyes seemingly able to pierce through the endless darkness and storms. "With me here, nothing will happen to you. Even if it means going against the entire world, I will protect you!"
They continued to struggle in this hellish environment, every second a test of life. Yet, the unknown way out remained hidden in the endless darkness, and no one knew when they would find it...
