Chapter 101 Jake vs Earth and Blood Rogue

Chapter 101 Jake vs Earth and Blood Rogue

"If I was able to manipulate your dreams, then do you think I wouldn't be able to read your mind?" The woman smiled, her sharp black eyes piercing through my chest and into the bed below me. It hurt. It felt as if I was bleeding out, but I was unable to do anything.

"Then what do you want from me?" I requested, but this woman was just so fucking unreadable that I could barely even figure out if her calm expression right now was real or not. Was she excited beneath? Angry with me for something in our past lives? Sad about something in our past lives? There were so many potential possibilities that I could hardly keep my cool.

"I want to help you," She simply replied. My face crumpled with confusion as she continued to smile. "We're partners now, right? I thought I should help you out so we can work together. I got a little headstart in this world, but you... you can still go further than me. I just know it."

"And why... you want something from me. Fame, money, power? You can't just be helping me for free."

"Oh... well, there is something that I want, as you see... when I died encountered a god. He was beautiful and muscular. He was well...." The woman chuckled slightly. "... he was pretty fucking hot. Although, that is not the reason why I want to see him again, as he told me something. He promised me something that I wanted to collect now that I've completed it."

...

The very next day, I decided to skip class... nothing surprising, but it was very easy to fly under my sister's radar. This probably wasn't the best of ideas now that I've angered my sister, but I was too intrigued with something else. I noticed Jake while walking down the hallway and realized he was sharpening bloodlust deep within him. It was buried extremely far down, but I was still able to just barely notice it.

Intrigued, I decided to just not go to class in general, hoping my sister wouldn't come for me. Even a few minutes after the bell for the start of the class had rung, she didn't even attempt to capture me, allowing me to follow Jake from the shadows.

There was something different about him. He looked deadlier and felt so much fucking deadlier. It was like I was watching a top predator ready to pounce on his prey. It was beautifully sharpened to the point he might as well just kill his prey with the bloodlust he had honed. It was sharper than any blade he could equip... or so I thought.

He was ambushed by somebody on his way to find his target, and before I knew it, he took out a weapon similar to that of a machete. The blade was longer than one but still had this aura that surrounded it. It was dark and musky like somebody had cursed this blade. I could just smell it from where I stood.

Their blades met, with the boy who came from the ceiling immediately spinning around, deflecting Jake's machete elsewhere. This created an opening where the boy's eyes glowed red, causing blood to gather around both of his daggers. He made a slashing motion despite clearly not being in hitting a range of Jake.

"Tch..." Jake clicked his tongue, instinctively bringing up his knee and then forming an almost bowl-like shape on his shin. This blocked flying sickles of blood that would have easily punctured a vital if landed on his torso.

He was skilled. Extremely skilled. No, both were skilled and talented at that. Jake, while relying mostly on his tactics and physical prowess, was perfect for a boy who specialized in not only earth manipulation but blood manipulation, a rare kind of skill set that very few have.

Slowly, I was getting pulled further into this fight, my attention slowly focusing on just the movements of these two. It was tense as Jake was constantly on the defense, possibly hoping to waste the boy's mana before he used up his, once again showing a high IQ in battle.

"But... that's not what you're truly aiming for, right?" I smirked, seeing the boy's movements slowly begin to slow down. In addition, he covered up his lack of blood-sharpened moves with more earth magic, allowing for heavier hits but much slower swings. Clearly, he was hoping to end this quickly.

It wasn't long before the boy noticed just what Jake had been doing and backed off. Instead of wasting his pride and life on a continuous attack, he took a moment to recover by backing up... but I assume that was all part of Jake's plan as the calculative older teen slowly began to walk forward.

His face was expressionless, and his eyes swirling with emotions soon went cold. He let out a long breath of exhaustion, expelling any pollutants that had entered his lungs. This caused the boy to smile as he attempted to get up, only to fall back onto his ass. He proceeded to cackle as if his life wasn't still in danger. Read the latest on empire

"Alright," the boy chuckled. "You win... wait... wait... wait! Stop! Don't! Don't! I'll give you the position! Please don't kill me! My family will-"

And just like that, the boy's head was sent flying across the hall, eventually rolling to my feet. I glanced up from my relaxed position, kicking the lifeless head to the side. I immediately met eye-to-eye with Jake, who took a cloth out of his bag and wiped down the blood from his machete, making sure it wouldn't turn out like the daggers of his victim.

"Why did you do that?" I intriguingly asked.
