Chapter 111: Duel of Dragons
Sorry for the delay. Since it's Christmas, I decided to take a break, and I'm also busy with other personal things. This chapter may be a bit weird since I haven't wrote a duel chapter in a
while.
[3rd POV]
As the duel commenced, the LED light on Yuna's Duel Disk illuminated, and she smiled. "It looks like I will be going first. Good luck, Seto. I even went through the trouble of getting something new for this."
"It won't matter. I'll defeat you just the same," Seto replied calmly, his mind now entirely focused on winning. Hearing his confident response, Yuna's brows arched with satisfaction, clearly pleased with his answer.
"Then let's begin!" Yuna yelled abruptly and slid a card onto her Duel Disk. "I summon Kitchen Dragonmaid onto the field!"
[Kitchen Dragonmaid: 500 Attack]
"When Kitchen Dragonmaid is summoned, I can add Dragonmaid Tinkhec before discarding it from my hand! Now, I will banish Kitchen Dragonmaid and Dragonmaid Tinkhec in my graveyard to bring out my new spirit! I summon Lady's Dragonmaid!"
Before Seto's eyes, a brand-new maid stepped onto the field with elegant grace. She had light blond hair styled in curls, with horns on either side of her face. Dressed in a classical maid outfit with a blue and white colour scheme, she stood out from the other Dragonmaids with her detailed gold buttons and jewellery adorning her clothes.
[Lady's Dragonmaid: 3000 Defence]
"When Lady's Dragonmaid is summoned, I'm able to special summon Chamber Dragonmaid from my deck."
[Chamber Dragonmaid: 1800 Defence]
"With Chamber Dragonmaid, I'll add Dragonmaid Tidying to my hand, and I'll set two cards before ending my turn," Yuna concluded as two face-down cards materialized at her feet. "Then it's my turn. I draw!" Seto declared warily, but Yuna swiftly interrupted him.
"During your Standby Phase, I'll activate Lady's Dragonmaid's effect! By shuffling Dragonmaid Tinkhec and Kitchen Dragonmaid back into the deck, I will Fusion Summon Dragonmaid Sheou!"
Clasping her hands together, Lady's Dragonmaid closed her eyes. In an instant, two Dragonmaids appeared beside her and then shot into the sky. They merged into one, transforming into a fierce yet elegant black dragon that snarled at Seto with hostility.
[Dragonmaid Sheou: 3500 Attack]
"Please continue," Yuna gestured with a playful smile. Seto would have smiled alongside her, except he knew what was at stake.
"Very well, I'll begin. First, I activate my Pot of Greed to draw two more cards from my deck." "I won't let that happen! Dragonmaid Sheou, negate his Pot of Greed!" Yuna yelled. "I'll shuffle Sheou back into my deck to negate your card, and by doing so, I'll summon House Dragonmaid instead."
*BOOOM*
Dragonmaid Sheou crashed into the ground, covering herself with her wings. As she unfurled them, she returned to her humanoid form, transforming into House Dragonmaid. The newly summoned maid eagerly clenched her fist with the broken shards of Part of Greed in her hands.
[House Dragonmaid: 3000 Attack]
Seto clicked his teeth in annoyance and quickly switched his plans, "I will use Melody of Awakening Dragon! By discarding my White Stones of Ancient, I can add Blue Eyes White Dragon and Blue Eyes Alternative White Dragon to my hand."
"Those cards..." Yuna frowned, and Seto smiled.
"They are the cards you gave me." Seto reminded her. I have always kept them in my deck, and I have never doubted your advice."
"I see..." Yuna averted her gaze, unsure of what to say, "That's really sweet..."
Watching her feel flustered, Seto chuckled and calmly continued the duel: "With Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, I will be able to summon it by revealing the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand."
[Blue Eyes Alternative White Dragon: 3000 Attack]
"Then, I will activate Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon's effect to target House Dragonmaid and destroy it!" Following his command, the dragon fired a white beam toward the maid.
"I respond with Dragonmaid Send-Off!" Yuna shouted, revealing one of the face-down cards on her field. "By returning House Dragonmaid to my deck, I can summon Laundry Dragonmaid instead!"
The beam missed entirely as House Dragonmaid vanished from sight. In her place appeared a small, young Dragonmaid with short blue hair dressed in a puffy uniform.

"When Laundry Dragonmaid is summoned, I can send the top three cards from my deck to the graveyard," Yuna explained as she slid several cards into the Duel Disk compartment.
Seto gritted his teeth. Every time he tried to make a move, Yuna effortlessly countered, widening the gap between them. However, this was something he had already anticipated...
"I will play the spell, Trade-In to discard Blue Eyes White Dragon and draw two cards. Then I will summon Keeper of Dragon Magic!"
[Keeper of Dragon Magic: 1800 Attack]
Next to Blue-Eyes White Dragon appeared a knight clad in full-plated light blue armor covered in spikes. He held a spear, aiming it at Yuna with unyielding silence.
"When Keeper of Dragon Magic is summoned, I can discard my Majesty with Eyes of Blue and add Polymerization to my hand. Then, by revealing my Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon from my deck, I can summon one of its fusion materials from the graveyard in a face-down position! I choose my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

"Ah, you have that too..." Yuna mumbled, her eyes widening slightly. However, her expression quickly returned to its usual calm.
Smiling wryly, Seto knew he needed to make a much bigger impact. "I will send Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon and Blue-Eyes White Dragon to the graveyard to summon Blue-
Eyes Twin Burst Dragon!"
With a bright light, the two dragons merged into one, revealing a larger Blue-Eyes White Dragon with two heads. Blue neon veins glowed all over its body, and the two heads roared in
unison, generating a shockwave.
[Blue Eyes Twin Burst Dragon: 3000 Attack]
"I really have to stop giving you cards..." Yuna commented in exasperation upon seeing the new dragon on the field, "I will activate my trap, Dragonmaid Tidying! By targeting Chamber Dragonmaid and Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon, I can return both of them to our hands!" "Then I will respond with Successor Soul! I will tribute my Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon and Laundry Dragonmaid, and I can summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon from the deck!" Seto announced as the dragon he summoned left as quick as it came, and Yuna frowned while she helplessly returned Chamber Dragonmaid to her hand.
[Blue-Eyes White Dragon: 3000 Attack]
"Next, I activate my Polmerisation spell! By fusing Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Keeper of Dragon Magic, I will fusion summon Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon!"
Keeper of Dragon Magic turned into particles of light as it flowed into Blue-Eyes White Dragon's wings, and the dragon howled at the new surge of power.
[Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon: 3400 Attack]
"Now, I will battle! Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon, destroy that maid!" Seto shouted, and the dragon unleashed a white beam, and Lady's Dragonmaid exclaimed before disappearing. "When Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon destroys a monster, I can set a trap from my graveyard onto my field." Seto explained calmly, "I will set another card and end my turn... During my end phase, I use the White Stones of Ancients I discarded earlier to summon Blue-Eyes Abyss
Dragon from the deck.

"With Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, I will add Chaos Form and Blue-Eyes Chao Max Dragon to my
hand. These cards are something I've been developing for a long time. This will be the first
time I'm showing them to anyone."
Seto explained with pride, and Yuna nodded with a small smile, "Then I look forward to it..."
"During the End phase, I will bring back Mikazukinoyaiba, the Moon Fang Dragon in my graveyard that I sent through Laundry Dragonmaid earlier," Yuna continued and summoned a bipedal dragon wielding a blade shaped like a crescent moon.

"It's back to my turn. I will play Pot of Greed to draw two more cards. Then I will activate the
spell Dragon Shrine to send my Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand to
the graveyard!"
"Next, by banishing Moon Fang Dragon, I summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon!"

"With the power of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, I will summon my companion, Divine
Dragon Lord Felgrand!"
*ROARRRRR*
There was silence before a thunderous roar shook the rooftop. The dragon soared through the sky, its gold scales glinting vividly in the sunlight. Seto frowned as Yuna's ace card was released onto the field.
"When Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand is summoned, I will target the Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon
and banish it! Then, it will gain power equal to the level of that dragon multiplied by one
hundred!" Gathering its breath, Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand fired a bright orange beam, and Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon frantically used its wings to block the attack.
"I will use my Ultimate Creature of Destruction!" Seto shouted and revealed one of the set
cards on his side, "By choosing my Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon, it won't be affected by effects
this turn!"
Watching the Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon shrugging off the attack, Yuna chuckled in resignation before immediately continuing: "Then I will banish Starving Venom Fusion Dragon from my extra deck to summon Dark End Evaporation Dragon!"

"In response, I will use my second trap card, Majesty with Dragons of White! By revealing my
Evaporation Dragon to fusion summon, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!" [Starving Venom Fusion Dragon: 2800 Attack]
"When Starving Venom Fusion Dragon is summoned, it can gain the attack of one special- summoned monster my opponent controls!" [Starving Venom Fusion Dragon: 2800 -> 6200 Attack]
"Now, I will enter into the battle phase!! Starving Venom Fusion Dragon and Dragonmaid
Sheou attack Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon!"
The two dragons rushed towards Seto's monster with killing intent. With a resounding boom,
the dragons crashed together, generating a massive shockwave filled with smoke, debris and
light.
"Gah!" Seto exclaimed as he was sent flying off his feet. Before he realised it, his vision
suddenly became white...
*GASP!*
Seto sat up frantically, and he grasped his chest. Sweat dripped down his face as he tried to remember what had happened...
Suddenly, a soft hand touched his knee, and a gentle voice mumbled quietly beside his ear,
"Seto, what's wrong?"
Confused, he glanced to his left and saw a woman staring worriedly at him. The woman had
white hair and blue eyes, and her face could be described as beautiful. Every time she blinked,
her long eyelashes fluttered pleasingly, and her smile was filled with warmth.
Unbeknownst to him, Seto's lips moved instinctively, "Kisara, it's you..." "Yes, you were sleeping on my lap until you suddenly started sweating and groaning in your
sleep." The woman, Kisara, replied with a concerned frown.
"It must have been a nightmare..." Seto said and properly sat up. He could do nothing but
watch as his body moved as if he were in a script. His eyes wandered to his outfit, and he found
himself dressed in a blue and golden robe.
"Do you mind telling me what it's about?" Kisara asked. "It's something ridiculous..." Seto paused, "I dreamt about you leaving me..." "Fu fu fu, that is stupid. Why would I ever leave you?" Kisara giggled and held his hand, her
voice tinged with affection, and Seto could feel his own body reacting as well. "That's not all... I don't know what happened, but I could feel an intense sadness; it reminded me of the thought of not being able to protect you..." Seto continued, "Then... Just so when things like everything will be okay, it all came crashing down once more, and that thought of
potentially losing everything again, it scares me..."
Kisara listened quietly, her expression unreadable. Eventually, her smile returned, and she
squeezed his hand, "Everyone is afraid of failing... But Seto, there's no point fearing failure if
you never try...."
"After all, if you never tried to court me in the first place, I wouldn't be here sitting next to
you..." Kisara joked shamelessly. So whatever was scaring you, don't worry about it! I believe
Seto can pull through..."
Staring at her smile, Seto felt a small flame flicker in his chest, and in the blink of an eye, Seto
found himself back on the rooftop of Domino High.
"What was that memory..." Seto mumbled to himself, unable to understand his condition. Yet
the woman's words to him remained in his head, and he lifted his arm and checked his status
on the Duel Disk.
[Seto Kaiba: 3000LP -> 100 LP] Only one hundred life points left... It was such an absurdly low amount that most people would surrender, but despite the overwhelming odds, Seto found himself laughing. He couldn't shake the strange feeling that lingered in his mind. What's the point of dwelling in despair? He still had life points, meaning
the duel wasn't over. He could still fight!
"After the battle, the effect of Ultimate Creature of Destruction will activate! Since all monsters Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon has battled with will be destroyed at the end of each damage step!"
Dragonmaid Sheou and Starving Venom Fusion Dragon collapsed. However, a gold light suddenly shone over Dragonmaid Sheou's body, and the dragon swiftly recovered. "I will banish the Return of the Dragon Lords in my graveyard and protect my Dragonmaid
Sheou from being destroyed." Yuna explained regretfully, "It was unfortunate, but only one
could be saved..."
"Thanks to Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon, I can reset another trap from my graveyard," Seto
explained, undeterred.
"That won't do! I will play the final card in my hand!" Yuna shouted, "I play Mystical Typhoon and destroy that set card! Then, I will end my turn..." Nodding silently, Seto placed his hand on his deck. With a final deep breath, he drew a card, "I will start by playing Card of Demise and draw from my deck until I have five cards! "Next, I will activate Vision with the Eyes of Blue! Using its effect, I will return Blue-Eyes
Tyrant Dragon to my hand and summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon instead!"
[Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon: 3000 Attack]
"Then, with Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, I can target Dragonmaid Sheou and destroy it!" Seto yelled, and the dragon maid fell under Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon's breath. "Since Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon used its effect, it could no longer attack." Yuna
pointed out with a frown, "What is your plan now..."
"Well..." Seto mumbled anxiously as he stared at a single card in his hand. It was still in
development, and he didn't even know if this would work. But how will he know if he doesn't
try?
"I will summon Maiden with Eyes of Blue!"
To Yuna's shock, a woman with white hair and blue eyes appeared on the field. She was
wearing a brown dress with various blue and silver embroideries, creating a priestly-looking
outfit.
[Maiden with Eyes of Blue (Tuner Level: 1) : 0 Attack] "M... Maiden with Eyes of Blue?" Yuna uttered in shock, "Seto, don't tell me..."
[Warning Warning. Excessive strain on the device was detected. Please remove the obstruction to prevent damage to the device. ]
The Duel Disk on Seto's arm screamed mechanically, unable to handle the pressure of this unknown card. However, Seto ignored the warning and continued his turn. "With this, I will summon! Using the levels of Blue-Eyes Alternative Dragon and Maiden with
Eyes of Blue! With their two forces combined, I will Synchro-Summon, Blue-Eyes Spirit
Dragon!!!"
WOOOOSH
A bright, blinding light flashed above them, and a new dragon emerged. Its entire body was pure white, with gold between its scales and armour segments. As sunlight shone through its semi-translucent wings, the dragon gave off an ethereal feeling, as if it were a divine creature
that had come down from heaven itself. [Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon: 2500 Attack]
[WARNING! Critical Levels Reached, and Emergency Deck Protection Mode Activated!] Following the warning, the Duel Disk quickly created a cover to protect his cards, but Seto easily ripped the components off so he could continue the duel. Electricity crackled dangerously around the device, and he gritted his teeth as if he could feel the device burning
through his sleeve.
Meanwhile, Yuna was staring at Blue-Eyes White Dragon in utter disbelief. The thought of synchro-summoning had never even occurred to her, and she could do nothing but gawk in
shock.
"E... Even then, it is not enough... My life points are still higher..." Yuna stammered awkwardly.
"Which is why..." Seto muttered while gritting his teeth from the pain, "I will play Burial
from a Different Dimension, bringing Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon back from the banish zone to my graveyard!"
"That means
