Chapter 257 We Have Something To Tell You
The adventurers' guild in the royal capital was a bustling hub of activity. The air was filled with a mixture of excitement, anticipation, and a hint of tension. The large hall was designed with wooden beams and the banners of various adventurer parties that had achieved remarkable feats.
The walls echoed with the buzz of conversations as adventurers of different races and classes gathered to receive quests, share tales of their exploits, and discuss the latest news.
The reception desk, manned by the guild receptionists, had a constant flow of adventurers approaching to collect their quests. The wooden floor, polished by the countless footsteps of those seeking fortune and glory, gleamed under the sunlight that filterd trough the windows. Quest boards, displaying a variety of tasks from simple monster hunts to complex rescue missions, lined the walls.
In one corner of the guild, the Brave Vanguard, a well known and skilled adventurer party, held a meeting. Darius, Elara, Gromm, Lyra, Torin, Mellin, and Kaladrix gathered around a sturdy table. Their distinct personalities added a dynamic energy to the atmosphere.
Darius slammed his gratesword onto the table, drawing the attention of his fellow adventurers. "We need to discuss the demon invasion. It's spreading in Almarck and Leonheart, according to what I heard from my sources the casualties keep mounting everyday, and we must inform our Master."
Elara's slender fingers drummed softly on the wooden table as she sighed, her silver eyes gazing into the distance. "Someone has to go. But I have this contract to escort a merchant caravan heading east. They've already paid, and I can't let them down." Her body slouched slightly, a reflection of her internal conflict.
Gromm's massive form leaned forward, his tattooed arms resting on the table. "I promised to help rebuild a village near the mountains. It needs a strong hand, and I can't abandon them." The orc's deep voice echowed with a sense of duty as he shifted his weight.
Lyra, the mischievous sorceress, leaned back, crossing one leg over the other, her fingers tapping rhythmically on her ornate robes. "I've got a personal score to settle with a bandit leader in the western plains. Can't let that slide." Her confident smirk hinted at a certain eagerness for the upcoming battle.
Torin, the calm cleric, adjusted his glasses, his movements measured. "I have obligations to tend to in the Holy Church. I can't join this time." His calm demeanor and thoughtful expression revealed a sense of responsibility.
Mellin's gaze shifted to Kaladrix, her blue eyes assessing. "What about you, Kaladrix?" Her slender fingers traced patterns on the table, her frosty disposition concealing the underlying curiosity.
Kaladrix, the enthusiastic leader, leaned back in his chair with a broad grin. "Adventure calls, but we must inform father about the demons. Mellin, care to join me?" His body language exuded confidence, his gaze meeting Mellin's with a spark of determination.
Mellin's demeanor softened slightly, revealing a glint of seriousness in her eyes. She leaned forward, her short silver hair framing her face. "I'll go with you, Kaladrix. Let's make sure Master is aware of what's going on." The subtle shift in her body language portrayed a commitment to the impending mission.
The Brave Vanguard, though momentarily scattered, focused on the decision of who would go and inform Master Akun about the demons spreading in other countries. The conversation shifted toward planning as Mellin and Kaladrix prepared to undertake the journey with a mission solely to deliver the information.
In a sudden moment, the resonance of Mellin's voice echowed within Akun's mind, a telepathic transmission reaching the depth of his thoughts. "Master, Kaldarix and I have arrived at the forest's edge. We bear news and an urgent matter to discuss."
A small sigh escaped Akun's lips, the weight of responsibilities settling upon his shoulders. In a quiet mutter to himself, he acknowledged the impending meeting. "Is that so? Guess I'll have to go meet them then."
With a composed demeanor, Akun responded through the telepathic link, his words traversing the connection. "I'll be there in a few moments."
Following his assurance through the telepathic link, the connection fell into silence, leaving Akun with a thoughtful breath. A sigh escaped his lips, a small acknowledgment of the tasks awaiting him. Turning with grace, he strode slowly toward the exit of his chambers.
.Moments later, we witness Akun soaring through the air with his aspect power. The wind whispered past his ears, causing his hair to dance from side to side. In a matter of moments, he gracefully landed at the edge of the forest. There, Mellin and Kaldarix came into view, awaiting his arrival.
"What is it that brings you two here with such urgency?" Akun inquired, his eyes reflecting both curiosity and a hint of concern.
Kaldarix, with his gold hair gleaming and a serious look in his blue eyes, stepped forward. "Father, we've received Intel of a noticeable increase in demon activities, especially in the regions of Almarck and Leonheart. There's something brewing, and it's not a mere isolated incident."
Akun's expression shifted, becoming more attentive. "Go on."
Mellin, with her short silver hair and icy blue eyes, added, "And last night, we sensed a strange surge in our cores, something laik a sort of call. It felt like a resonance, as if some force wanted to confirm our exitance."
As they spoke, Akun's brow furrowed with concern.
"Resonance, you say?" Akun paused momentarly, gesturing inquisitively as he mused inwardly, "She must be referring to that strange feeling I felt last night, it some how alerted me of the existence of four dragons, and according to the system it could have only be done by a powerful dragon, meaning that a dragon just as strong or stronger than Kaldarix is alive somewhere."
Kaldarix hesitated for a moment, glancing at Mellin, then returned his gaze to Akun. "It's about what we felt during the resonance. We believe it might be related to the dragon essences within us. Father, we need your guidance on this matter."
Akun's eyes narrowed slightly, a mixture of concern and understanding, he mused futher. "Dragon essences... He must be aware he is a dragon but he doesn't have any of the memories of the original Kaldarix, so he is confused with what is going on. I think the same thing is also happening to Mellin, they must feel worried and need me to explain what is happening to them."
