Chapter 258 Arrival At The Ant City And A Dragon God?
Akun extended a calming presence, a reassuring smile softening the edges of his expression. "Calm down, both of you. What you experienced is not a cause for alarm. What you felt is known as resonance, a connection that allows dragons to be aware of each other's existence."
Kaldarix's brows furrowed, seeking further understanding. "Resonance? Why did it feel so... Weird?"
Akun continued to elucidate, "Resonance can be triggered by two factors, and urgency often accompanies the recognition of a powerful presence or a significant event. It's a natural aspect of our dragon heritage, a way for dragons to communicate across vast distances."
Mellin nodded, her gaze reflecting a mix of relief and curiosity. "So, it's a normal part of being a dragon?"
Akun affirmed, "Indeed, it is. Dragons use resonance to communicate, share information, and sense the presence of others. It's a complex system that aids in maintaining a connection between dragons scattered across different territories."
Kaldarix's eyes widened with newfound understanding, and he exchanged a glance with Mellin. "So, there are other dragons out there?" Read exclusive chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
Akun nodded, "Not... really.. Dragons are ancient beings, they are honestly supposed to have been extinct, but it seems some of them are still alive."
As Akun saw the curiosity in Mellin and Kaldarix's eyes, he gently hushed them with a finger to his lips. "There's much more to discuss, but not here. Follow me back to the castle; I'll explain everything there."
As they prepared to leave, Akun, ever observant, noted the absence of the other members of the Brave Vanguard. "I noticed you both came alone. Where are the others?"
Kaldarix quickly responded, "They had some urgent business to attend to, so only Mellin and I could come."@@@@
Unbeknownst to Gideon, the princess's wounds were slowly healing, and she was planning to ambush Akun when she got the chance.
As Gideon arrived at the castle gates, he nodded at the guards stationed there, and they promptly opened the gates, granting him and the princess access to the castle. Gideon then slowly made his way into the castle, passing trough the grand hall. As he did, the princess couldn't help but silently admire the design and structure.
"Amazing, simply amazing," she thought to herself, taking in the intricacies of the castle. The marble floors beneath her were like a reflective surface, admired for their smoothness and reflective qualities. Her gaze then turned to the golden chandelier that hung overhead. "And the craftsmanship that was used to make gold shaped like that," she mused further.
"Those runes used to create some sort of lumination around it, the way the gold was made to curl around to hold it like that. It's all simply amazing."
As Gideon made his way to the throne room, his footsteps echoed in the grand halls. Upon arrival, he paused and confidently stated, "I want to have an audience with my liege."
One of the guards promptly responded, "Oh, I'm sorry, sir. You just missed him. Our liege stepped out a few minutes ago."
Gideon, with a hint of disappointment in his voice, replied, "Oh, is that so."
Suddenly, a voice echoed in the hallway, "What is that about me being out, and what is it you want to discuss, Gideon?"
In that moment, the dragon princess felt a familiar presence. Swiftly, she propelled herself out of Gideon's hands and flung herself a few feet back. Inwardly, she mused, "No way, it can't be." She began to tremble as she gazed at a man with silver hair, purple eyes, dressed in blue robes, approaching with two other people by his side.
The man gave off a peculiar presence, seeming to be a dragon and yet a god at the same time, along with a collection of other presences. His race was not identifiable.
