Chapter 312: Reassurance
Chapter 312: Reassurance
Meanwhile, as Akun moved, a shimmering rift suddenly opened nearby, and from its depths emerged Chrono Nexus. She began, "Congratulations, Darling~," she said, her voice echoing with adoration as she clasped her hands together, tilting her head slightly to the left. "You have successfully controlled your aura and attained dragon--"
Before she could finish her statement Akun simply darted past her, hurrying to Kaldarix and Mellin’s side, seemingly ignoring her.
Annoyed by his disregard, Chrono Nexus’s expression hardened, her brow furrowing in irritation. "Is that any way to treat your wife?" she yelled after him, her voice echoing with a mixture of frustration and hurt.
"Darling!? Wife!? When did that happen!?" Akun asked with shock as he arrived by Mellin an Kaldarix’s side, his cheeks slightly flushed as he gazed at Chrono Nexus confusion and a hint of shock on his face.
Chrono Nexus wrapped her arms around her body, her cheeks slightly flushed as she tilted her sholders from up to down, as she said, "Oh come on darling~ don’t be shy, you said you wanted to have all of us back at the festival just a moment ago."
Akun’s paused momentarly, dumbfounded as he mused, "Wait.... Is that what they thought when I said.... Now that I think about it, it dose sound like I said I wanted all of them, but that isn’t what I meant."
"Ughhhh, father, please, help me," Kaldarix called out, reaching out to grab Akun’s sleeve, his breath labored. Mellin crawled closer as well, grabbing his other sleeve, although she seemed to be in too much pain to actually form any words.
Akun, realizing this wasn’t the moment to be talking about relationships and misunderstandings, shook his head. "Now is not the time for that. System, could you—" He was about to call out to the system when suddenly Chrono Nexus’s voice echoed as she flew towards them.
"Speed it up," Akun commanded, his voice cutting through the tense atmosphere. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, a sense of helplessness gnawing at him as he watched them suffer.
With a nod from Chrono Nexus, the wisps of energy surrounding Kaldarix and Mellin intensified, swirling faster and brighter. Their bodies trembled with the force of the magic enveloping them, but Akun could see that it was working. The pain in their faces began to ebb slightly, replaced by a sense of calm.
"They seem to be returning to normal," Akun remarked, his voice tinged with a mixture of concern and hope.
Chrono Nexus nodded in agreement, her gaze fixed on the siblings. "Yes, it appears that the worst is over for now," she replied softly. With a graceful gesture, she lifted the spell that had been enveloping them, the shimmering energy dissipating into the air.
As Kaldarix and Mellin slowly calmed down, Chrono Nexus turned to Akun, her expression grave. "Once they have gained back all their memories, their current behavior could completely change, and their is a possibility they might forget everything they had happned to them since you embedded their cores into silver puppets," she warned, her voice filled with solemnity.
Akun’s expression softened, a hint of sadness shadowing his face. Though he didn’t speak, it was obvious that he didn’t like the possibility of being forgotten by the two siblings. Despite the passage of time, he could still vividly recall the moments he had spent shaping their consciousness back at the forest’s edge.
Chrono Nexus noticed the somber expression on his face and offered a reassuring smile. With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she suddenly threw herself at him, catching him off guard. He stumbled slightly but managed to steady himself as she giggled.
"Don’t worry," she said, her voice playful yet reassuring. "I was only teasing you. They won’t forget about you, I’m very sure of that. But they will change... a bit. However, they will still call you father."
A flicker of relief crossed Akun’s face as he absorbed her words. He let out a small chuckle, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly. "Thank you, Chrono Nexus," he replied, gratitude shining in his eyes. "That means a lot to me." Explore more at novelhall.Côm
