Chapter 356: 353, where are you?

When Hannibal stepped into the psychological counseling clinic, he suddenly felt a crushing spiritual pressure.

Before his eyes lay an impenetrable thick fog.

His Spirit Vision was completely obscured, rendering him unable to see clearly what was ahead.

The cultists who had just entered the door were now nowhere to be seen.

A silent disappearance.

It was as if he had stepped into a world that didn’t exist in reality.

...

“Mr. Du Wei, are you still there?”

Hannibal’s voice sounded a bit strange, and he took a few steps backward. He had only taken two steps since entering, so by all logic, he should have been able to step back out by now.

But all he felt beneath his feet and at his back was emptiness.

He couldn’t get out...

Hannibal narrowed his eyes but didn’t seem concerned.

“Mr. Du Wei, I know you want me to die here, but I must say, you are sorely mistaken.”

“Even as an Evil Spirit, you couldn’t kill me in one go.”

“You’ve witnessed my abilities first-hand, I don’t care about wasting a life here.”

“I have brought many messages, such as about you as the Evil Spirit who is about to come out from the mirror.”

“Aren’t you worried?”

Hannibal’s voice had a conversational tone with each sentence, as if the thick fog in front of him was Du Wei himself.

He could feel that Du Wei was in this house, but he couldn’t pinpoint his exact location.

Something was very wrong with that fog; it blocked his perception.

Hannibal’s expression turned somewhat grim, the very reason he was saying all this was to determine Du Wei’s location.

As long as he found Du Wei, he was confident he could escape the current predicament.

Suddenly...

Hannibal heard a strange sound.

Click... click... click.

It was like the gears of a machine attempting to turn but jamming for some reason...

Like an old clock...

Hannibal followed the direction of the sound, and at the same time, he pulled out a tranquilizer gun from his pocket.

According to the Evil Spirit Du Wei’s requirements, what he wanted was a living Du Wei, not a corpse.

Hannibal was more than happy to help one of his kind achieve their goals.

He took pleasure in it.

Very soon...

Passing through the fog,

Hannibal saw an old-fashioned clock hanging on the wall.

Its face was engraved with angels and other symbols of divine significance.

All he knew was that the clinic was not normal, the Antique Clock was extremely terrifying, and there was a fake Du Wei inside.

“Could it be, this is a trap specifically prepared for me...”

Hannibal whispered as he approached the clinic’s entrance.

The cultists, upon seeing him, all cast peculiar glances his way.

“Mr. Hannibal, didn’t you just...”

“Shh...”

Hannibal gestured for silence with his finger to his lips: “That’s not important.”

As he spoke, Hannibal took an envelope out of his pocket.

Upon opening it, there was a piece of blank paper inside.

The next second.

Text automatically appeared on the paper: [Five minutes ago, you entered the clinic and encountered a very terrifying entity, and so you died.]

[You’ve gained some information, but you can’t find Du Wei even though he is right inside the clinic.]

Hannibal glanced at the contents of the letter and turned to order the others: “Prepare to set fire, burn down this clinic.”

The envelope was something Hannibal had taken from Dusk Bell Church.

Inside the sealed envelope, there was the presence of an Evil Spirit.

It wasn’t powerful, but it could reveal events from ten minutes earlier and provide useful information.

The situation was now beyond Hannibal’s control. Although he trusted his own intellect, in the absence of sufficient information, he would consider the words on the letter.

If Du Wei truly was inside the clinic, then setting it on fire would surely force him out.

Otherwise, he would have to perish in the flames.

Hannibal didn’t care whether this would cause the Antique Clock to lose control or not.

He had the ability to use a substitute for death, and he was no good Samaritan.

As long as he could achieve his objective, any means were permissible to be used.

Hannibal said in a low voice, “Things are getting more and more interesting.”

...

Ding ding ding...

Fingertips struck piano keys, and a dense succession of melodious music followed.

“Du Wei” sat in front of the piano, playing that lullaby.

Behind him, dark shadows stood silently, never taking a step away.

Annabelle squatted in the corner of the autopsy room, shivering. From its appearance to the present, it had been caught in some sort of fear, and some black, thin silk threads had appeared on its body.

The areas with those silk threads had become very fuzzy.

But “Du Wei” seemed completely oblivious, focused on playing the piano, acting rather strangely.

His clothes seemed a bit bulky. Beneath the trench coat, one could glimpse a sweater with a high collar interspersed with red and green.
